Pierpaolo Piccioli’s Valentino continues to defy the traditional view of femininity. While his collections are inherently romantic and glamorous, encapsulating Valentino Garavani’s vision for Valentino since its inception, Piccioli continues to make Valentino feel fresh.
He has consistently challenged how we look at fashion through shape, print, details, and color. Considered a challenge, Piccioli has played with color in the past, and for Fall 2024, he has chosen monochrome as a theme once again, this time playing with fashion’s favorite color: black.
Valentino Le Noir Fall 2024
While color remained consistent throughout, Piccioli played with feminine brand signifiers like rosettes, ruffles, and lace. Silhouettes are romantic, offering flowy fabrics and unmistakable glamour; feminine pieces are juxtaposed with classic tailoring, all in the everyday hue of black.
This juxtaposition proves the power of black and how it takes on new life with each look.
Bags, also all in black, feature ornate details like embossed florals, fun fringe, and Valentino’s iconic floral rosettes. Classic brand signatures like the Valentino Garavani Locò Bag and the new VLogo Moon are back on the runway.
While the VLogo Moon is given the monochrome treatment, the Locò Bag is revealed in a delicate but intricate floral embroidery. These House icons are showcased alongside new silhouettes in varying fabrications of black patent, suede, and exotics. View bags from the runway below, images via Valentino.
That fringe tote!!!
I love it all. Some beautiful bags and the clothing. I have no money… but if I did, i’d say take it all!
One of the best collections I’ve seen in a long time.
PP does it again! Making ultra feminine yet edgy designs. Also sticking to the Maison’s heritage, like reintroducing the old logo from the era of Mr. Garavani himself. If I could afford it there are several pieces I would get.
