I love sneakers almost as much as I love handbags, and just like bags, sneaker trends change year after year. While gorpcore favorites from Salomon and Asics are still relevant, the trend continues to move away from chunky dad sneakers towards ’70s-esque retro runners and the “sneakerina” silhouettes we saw popping up earlier this year.
Everyone from sportswear brands like Adidas and Puma is hopping aboard the trend, but so are our favorite designers. Loewe’s Ballet Runner, which has long been a brand favorite, saw an update this year, and the sleek sneaker made waves on the runway at Prada.

As a sneaker lover, I tend to prefer chunky styles from Nike or New Balance, but as a former ballerina, this style has really won me over and spoken to my heart! I’ve got my eye on a silver pair from Repetto, but there are a ton of options at many price points.
Some are more girly, while some lean more sporty; below we’ve got 16 fresh picks to get you going!

They don’t look like they provide much support.
Repetto used to be made in France but now a lot of their manufacturing has been shipped overseas.
I honestly curious, those designer sneakers, are they really comfy like meant to walk / run, or they just Fashion?
I have the adidas retro sneaker pair (Tokyo) which are surprisingly comfy while being stylish. Like Kaitlyn, I am fast becoming a sneaker lover and can’t ever imagine going back to stilettoes or pumps for workwear ever again.
I’m waiting for the Loewe ballet runner 2.0 to be released again in brown and blue. They were sold out soon to put them on sale and I hope they bring them back
I purchased the Celine one, it’s very comfortable and easy to style.
