If you were a child of the late ’80s or ’90s, then growing up you likely remember the ultra-stylish and incredibly sleek shoulder bags that were at the forefront of fashion in the late ’90s and early 2000s. Burrowed beneath the armpits of It-girls like Carrie Bradshaw aka Sarah Jessica Parker, Paris Hilton, the Olsen Twins and more, the minimalist silhouette was beloved by so many. Clean in design these bags are not only sleek to look at, but they’re also an equally as stylish, but much more functional alternative to the micro and mini bags that have been trending the last few years.
While hobos have been making their comeback, this season in particular it’s all about the hobo shoulder bag—the sleek, short-strapped silhouette that’s compact, yet somehow spacious at the same time. A street style must have, we’re loving new versions of carry over styles like the Gucci Jackie that’s been reinvented in denim this spring as well as the new kids in town like Saint Laurent’s logo Le 5 À 7 Hobo and Fendi’s newest must-have, the Croissant bag. Check out our finds below and let us know if you’re eyeing one of these beauties!
I always like hobos on other people. On me, I feel sloppy and bohemian. With that being said, I like the structure of some of these. I could see myself carrying that Fendi.

I don’t think hobo bags ever went away.
Love me some hobo’s
Hobos are back? To paraphrase the Backstreet Boys’s fans: “Hobos never left!”
This collection is totally missing the Louis Vuitton Marshmallow bag!
I agree, but an “Influencer” pointed out that the pattern didn’t “meet” or line up on the side, which made it look imitation. ????
That bag is everyone’s new fav!!
I’ll take the Fendi and the gorgeous green Coach please!!
Hobos either feel old fashioned if structured or bohemian if too unstructured. It’s the only bag shape I never really loved.
Me too! I feel like Im the odd man out for not wanting any of these bags.
I still don’t understand why nobody makes hobos crossbody. Not all of us have perfect shoulders where the hobo comfortably perches.
I have a big crush for hobo bags.
I have a Chloé Kerala tote bag (I’m looking for the hobo version), a vintage Mulberry Araline bag and a small Valextra Namaste Positano bag. I had a Givenchy hobo bag zipped but I sold it because the lamb leather is fragile and quite difficult to treat.
The Chloé Kerala tote bag looks a bit like the Gucci bag if you don’t use the zippers on the sides. For me, it’s an excellent investment.
Otherwise, the selections shown on the article such as the Coach, Valextra and Gucci brands are excellent models. I would always have a little crush on Valextra brand because the quality of the leather is equivalent to Loewe.
