Pride month kicked off June 1st in the US. In June, we celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community each year and pay homage to the Stonewall Riots of 1969, which was the beginning of the modern Gay Rights movement. For those who participate in NYC, this year is the 50th anniversary of the NYC Pride March. Every year, the community comes together to celebrate and though many show their pride year round, brands often release capsule collections around this time to commemorate the occasion. Products range from footwear and clothing to home accessories and beyond.
Of course, handbag lovers want to show off their pride too, so we took a dive to find some colorful bags if rainbows are your thing. Let's be honest, who doesn't love rainbows and sunshine? While many of the bags below are part of brands' spring collections or otherwise, we did want to poke around and find products or designers that give back to the community as well. Kate Spade created a line of products specifically to celebrate Pride Month 2020 and everything that these 30 days stand for. The brand is giving back by donating $25,000 to The Trevor Project, which supports the mental health of LGBTQ youth. Stella McCartney, which is also included below, has long been an ally of the community, and last year the brand created a capsule collection with a portion of all proceeds being donated to the Stonewall Inn Gives Back Initiative.
