I was really hoping to have more to report with the release of more Balmain Handbags to the public, but unfortunately, it looks like they’re sticking with the uninspired messenger bag style that we first saw with the Balmain Crystal Leopard Suede Bag.
Balmain is such an interesting, trend-setting line that I’m disappointed that they didn’t choose to do more with their handbags. This is just their first effort, though, so maybe we can expect more in the future. Buy through Net-a-Porter for $1915-$3925.
I concur! I loved the Spring 2010 Clothing line a few weeks ago but these bags must have been designed by someone else!

no pictures of the leopard messenger? that looks like rocawear or some ghetto bullshit. this is not what I expect from balmain, ever.

I actually really like the studded one – I love simply styled, but luxe bags and I like the mixture of studs (I have a Chloe Ida clutch with mixed-finish studs and I think it makes it far more interesting) and the fact that it’s nice and low slung.
However, the price is INSANE (at least 3x what it ought to be [possibly 4x]) and if the sharp-looking, studs extend to the back of the bag (as they appear to), wouldn’t they quickly make holes in anything one wore with it?
Suprisingly boring.
