Help me out with this one, folks. The Donna Karan Sabre Shoulder Bag is reminding me a lot of Gucci and I can’t quite figure out why.
Is it the shape? Gucci tends to make a lot of big, chunky shoulder bags. Or maybe the color? I’m not a big fan of tan, but Gucci’s tans have always held a special place in my heart – I think they get the amount of orange undertone just right. This one doesn’t seem quite the same, but it’s reminiscent, I think. Maybe it’s the “rustic” accents? There’s no Gucci-signature bamboo, but the claw-like (or tooth-like?) closure still reminds me of the kinds of things they like to do. So are you seeing what I’m seeing, or have I looked at so many handbags that they’re all starting to blur together in my mind? Buy through Bergdorf Goodman for $1895.
No I agree it has some of Gucci’s features. Leather quality and look, shape and mainly the ivory-tooth-like closure that gives it a little african look. I like it.
new jackie, icon bit and g wave kinda have that shape and I agree with So – the leather reminds of gucci. but I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s all blended in your mind, maybe you needed a vacation from handbags Amanda 🙂
I think it’s the latch that is kinda similar with the “old” gucci bags
I agree with the others, I think it is the latch and the tooth closure. It is a cute bag but not worth $1895.

I like the overall look and shape, but my patience would wear thin [quickly] with that flap and hook closure!
I think it is the heavy accent towards the center of the handbag. The latch and the tooth. It has a similar feel to the Gucci G wave. I have seen this bag in white and it is sexy.
yes it does happen to me it seems to look like the new jackie bag but the jackie itself looks like the hermes trim and so i can say its such a general bag shape that is why it might seem like a familiar shape
This bag is ugly so I don’t know if I’d compare it to Gucci. It looks funny with that shiny bone on the front.
