The excitement and whirlwind that surrounds fashion month finally came to a close yesterday. It can be a full-time job keeping up with every collection and presentation that passes through New York, London, Milan and Paris (trust me, I know), but if you lost track along the way, fret not: I have all the footwear excitement you need to know about from the world’s fashion capitals.
In London, Charlotte Olympia debuted its first-ever runway collection, which is well worth a look. In Milan, Gucci‘s shoes were every bit as detailed and unconventional as you’ve probably come to expect, but what stunned me even more was how Fendi‘s three-dimensional handbag ruffles found their way onto the brand’s shoes. Paris was, well, Paris.
Overall, the shoes you can come to expect next fall are going to be full of texture. Despite the small space shoes provide, brands like Miu Miu, Balenciaga and Dolce & Gabbana packed on the crystals, jewels and studs in the most elegant and intricate way. If the maximalist look isn’t for you, there were also some beautiful minimalist designs from Bottega Veneta, Chloé and, of course, Céline.
