We talked last week about the success of Poppy, Coach‘s super-girly line aimed at younger women whose tastes are slightly more, uh, boisterous than those of their traditional customers. It’s been a big success for the brand, which often is a gateway for teens into the world of designer accessories.
That doesn’t mean that Coach has forgotten its core customers, however. Bags like the Coach Kristen Woven Leather Clutch remind us all that just because a brand makes bags for teenagers or the logo-obsessed doesn’t also mean that they are incapable of making bags for sophisticated, stylish women – that’s exactly what this clutch is.
We’ve already spoken of my love for one of the bags from the Kristen line, but somehow, I might like this one even more. The woven leather is really something special – instead of being super geometric, the effect is more of a confluence of tiny fallen flower petals, which couldn’t be more appropriate for spring and summer. Because the scale is so small, however, the visual is not overwhelming – if I didn’t know any better, I’d say that it looked like bouclé from a distance. The curved hardware, which appears on all the Kristen bags, is a nice touch. Buy through Nordstrom for $348.
