I’m a really, really big Marchesa fan. That normally wouldn’t have anything to do with affordably priced handbags, but today, it does.
Marchesa’s finely ruffled confections cost many, many thousands of dollars, but the same aesthetic can be had at a lower price from different sources. This time, it can be had in a handbag with the Sondra Roberts Floral Organza Clutch.
The level of workmanship and detail is obviously nowhere close to what you would find on a Marchesa gown, but the low price point makes up for that. The medium grey tone keeps the clutch from getting too prissy, and the unfinished edges have a bit of a Lanvin feel to them that is so Parisian and chic. I like ruffles but have never had a bag with ruffles. I would just be concerned about the durability of the bag – do the ruffles squash out of shape easily ?
