I feel like it’s time to take the temperature in the room, so to speak. I know that I, personally, am not sick of black leather, chains or studs because I liked them way back in high school and have enjoyed them ever since, but what about the rest of you, for whom they may not be a party of your innate personal style? Are you over the industrial trend yet?
And, as an extension of that question, is the Magali Pascal Chain Shoulder Bag awesome or boring? I vote for ‘awesome,’ but I can also see where this trend might be getting a little tired. Are you over it yet? And if you are over it, what is the new trend that you’re supporting?
Correct me if I’m wrong, but I can’t remember another bag that has draped chains in a similar way, and I love it. They sort of look like necklaces for your purse, and they add a lot of style without compromising the leather or diminishing the bag’s functionality. You could also argue, however, that they look kind of tacked-on, and I would necessarily disagree. I just happen to think that “tacked-on” works in this instance. Buy through Luisa Via Roma for $592.
This trend has not been my thing…. I am ready for some change! And though I can appreciate the design of this bag, I’m not so sure about the weight of it… it looks a little painful/heavy.
I love hobos, black and chains, but I don’t like this particular bag. The industrial trend does seem to be played out a little, but I don’t think that should be a problem. It means designers will have to create smarter, more subtle and nicer looking black bags. The time of simply hanging/placing some chain/studs on a bag to make it on-trend is over.
I don’t think black bags will ever be gone, at least not where I’m from. Here in Amsterdam black bags still sell faster than any other color.
It reminds me of a Barbie shirt I had when I was a kid with a necklace sewn onto the neck. I don’t think I would be able to put up with this bag, it would get too bashed around for those chains to continue looking good, but I like it for someone else.
It looks heavy. I think that it could have done without the bag necklace.
