As more Holiday (or Resort or Pre-Spring or Cruise or whatever you want to call them) bags show up online, I’m starting to think that a small handbag is far and away the best idea for working velvet into your cold-weather wardrobe. First came the Juicy Couture Flair Bow Clutch, and now, the Kate Spade Skipper Flower Velvet Mini Bag has piqued my interest.
I still like the Juicy Couture clutch the best (who would have ever thought that phrase would ever come out of my mouth?), but this bag does give you a nice alternative if you’d rather have a jewel tone. Velvet should always make you want to touch whatever it graces, and my desire to pet this bag is almost unending. The flower is a tad large and floppy, but so long as you’re not attending a formal event, this could be a fun bag for any time of the day. Buy through Saks for $195.

It is a bit over the top, yes, but it makes me smile nevertheless.
