Fashion Week Handbags: Kate Spade Spring 2011

Kate Spade 1If I had to pick two words to describe the bags from Kate Spade Spring 2011, they would be “quirky” and “classic.” The brand has shown a penchant for truly fashionable novelty bags in the past, and it looks as though its looking to explore that field a bit more for spring with strangely awesome bags modeled after pineapples and newspapers.

That doesn’t mean that Kate Spade has given up on the classic handbag, though. The yellow satchel at right should assuage any traditionalist fears that the brand has forgotten the customers who made it successful in the first place – it’s just hoping that those customers are looking to have a little fun on the side.

Okay, I just love the yellow crossbody (I think it is a crossbody). The yellow makes me smile and would brighten my day in a second.

I love that newspaper bag. I’m also a big fan of the novel clutches they have out right now.
