When I think of Furla, I conjure up pictures of nicely made if slightly predictable leather goods for a mid-market audience. Furla’s designers would apparently like to tweak my notion of their brand just a bit, and adding in see-through vinyl bags in candy colors is probably about as effective a way to do that as I can think of.

At first I was kind of turned off by those bags but I suppose they’d be fun for summer use, so long as they’re priced accordingly. What I do like without reservation, however, is the highly Bottega-esque woven tote. It’s easily the highlight of this photo set, and if the price is right, it’s an impending addition to my wardrobe. Even if it isn’t all that original.

ditto on the cabat-esque tote–amanda, do you know if it’d have a zipper top closure?

Quite a departure for Furla. I always found them to be very boring.
Sign me up for one in every color. I like that it’s plastic and can be worn to the beach or poolside without worrying about whether or not it would get dirty.
I agree about the price. Unfortunately, I predict that the bags will be well above the $200 mark.

WWD said that the plastic bags would be $202

@Chris: I don’t think the brand has released pictures from any other angle yet, but I’ll keep an eye out for more info. I’d like to know as well!

I love the shape of the bag, and if I had money to throw around, I’d buy one! I always thought transparent bags were quite cute.

    They’re fun, but I wouldn’t buy a see-through bag from a designer. Wouldn’t get enough use.

I actually find Furla overpriced for what they offer. Yes, I bought a few in my super early twenties, at the start of my career. I swear they were cheaper then. Maybe the branding in the US is better than in Europe.

… as for designer “inspiration” #1 has Vivienne Westwood motifs, #5 reminds me of a Chloe bag about 4 years ago and the cute plastics have got Speedy written all over them. I would not shell that much cash for an “inspiration” tote.

I totally agree with you !

I want one in smoke grey

The black and white bag looks so sleek (and yes, probably a little too Chloe/Celine). I have to say I’m a little tempted by it.

i love the first one, with black handles; and i also wouldn’t turn down the yellow speedy-copy.

Not sure how I feel about this – fun and playful yes but cheap looking at the same time.
