Ok, you’re right, that’s an exaggeration. Attractive laptop cases have graced this mortal coil in the past, just not often. And somehow, increasing a laptop case’s price point doesn’t generally increase its attractiveness; I’ve seen just as many ugly designer cases as non-designer ones.

The Diane Von Furstenberg Mariela Laptop Case, however, manages to buck the trend and make an attractive, maybe even pretty, sleeve to cover your MacBook Pro. Can I get this print in a big summer tote bag too?

This case does have one drawback that bears mentioning, though: the apparent lack of padding. Perhaps it would be more apt to call what we see here a sleeve rather than a case, since it seems like most of its protective qualities would be reserved for scratches and dents. If you drop your laptop while it’s inside, I don’t think this thing is going to offer much extra cushion. If you’re just looking for something to attractively cover your computer while it’s in your tote bag, on the other hand, this would be a perfect option. Buy through ShopBop for $135.

Amanda, I really like the print but why no padding? That could be an issue..

No padding? Then it’s not really that useful. The print is nothing special either.

That’s nice, but no padding is a huge drawback.

Love it, but as they say beauty comes at a price, in this case no appropriate inner padding for one’s laptop… I might be tempted to add my own as I love the diverse print and am biased too as Diane Von Furstenberg is one of my favourite designers!
