Anya Hindmarch Ipanema Straw Clutch

I can think of no better bag to talk about on a sunny, warm late April morning (side note – how did we already manage to get to late April??) that a cute straw clutch. Come to think of it, it’s also Friday – the first night of the weekend, and therefore the first night of the week that you’re likely to need a clutch by your side.

All that considered, the timing of the Anya Hindmarch Ipanema Straw Clutch couldn’t be better. It’s look may be just a hair too serious-summer to be worn yet in cooler climates, but down south where I am, we’ve had pool weather for at least the last month – you’d think it was already July. The more sunshine I see, the more I want something like this to carry around.

The stitching and stones on this clutch may render it a bit busy for some, but if you live in a genuinely, oppressively hot climate (I’m talking places where it hits 90 degrees by mid-morning during the summer), you’ll understand my reasoning. When the sun is beating down on you and the humidity is nearing 100%, the last thing you want to deal with is lots of accessories. Even someone like me, with a deep love for jewelry and accessories, can barely force myself to put on a bracelet when things get that hot – you just sweat all over everything anyway.

During those times, when all you want to do is wear white linen and fan yourself, an intricate-yet-weather-appropriate clutch is perfect. It does the job of making your outfit more interesting without encumbering yourself with more stuff to wear on your body, and anyone who has frantically tried to pry a ring off of a heat-swollen finger (what, just me?) will appreciate this little bag’s ease of use. Buy through Nordstrom for $395.
