What Are Your 2021 Handbag Goals and Resolutions?

Looking to finally snag that holy grail? Planning to streamline your collection? We want to know!

It’s hard to grasp that we’re only 10 days away from a new year, but believe it or not 2021 is coming, and it’s coming fast. It has been a year unlike any other and while may of us are eager to leave 2020 in the past (and rightfully so), I still think it’s important to look back at everything this year has taught us. Many of us have been able to slow down a bit, spend time with family and friends and appreciate everything that we have, though it would be remiss not to mention that others have also seen unimaginable hardships this year. Though this post is meant to be lighthearted and fun, it’s important first to recognize that the ways in which this year impacted all of us vary from person to person.

With all that being said let’s get down to why we’re talking about the new year here in the first place. No, we’re not going to recommend you join a running club or go vegan (but if you want to more power to you!), rather we’re here to discuss what 2021 means to you in terms of the thing that binds us all together: handbags.

When it comes to bags, I’m sure I’m preaching to the choir when I say that this year my bags got less use than ever before, and using my bags less and less really helped me to see which ones I reach for the most. When taking your handbags out for spin becomes a novelty rather than an everyday occurrence, it becomes incredibly apparent that yes, sometimes we do play favorites!

With that being said, my main handbag resolution is get more wears out of my lesser used bags. I’ve come to a point in my collection where I’m happy with each piece I own, and wouldn’t think about selling anything. And despite using some of my bags way more than others, the ones that don’t leave their dust bags as often are still an integral part of my collection. I’d really like to diversify the bags that I wear day to day a bit more which will also stop me from getting bored and wanting to buy something new just because.

My second main handbag resolution is to continue to shop more mindfully, and only buy a bag that I truly, genuinely love and cannot stop thinking about. I’ve discussed before how I haven’t been that excited by bags in a long time, and I want to continue to lean into these feelings so that when I do make a big purchase, it’s the right one. With that being said, this year I’d really like to add one new bag to my collection: the Bottega Veneta Cassette Bag.

What are your 2021 handbag goals and resolutions?
