It’s hard to believe that the second half of the year is in full swing, and summer’s weeks are quickly passing us by! Forum members were quite busy this month, with the Chanel sub-forum being the place to see, and by see, we mean lots and lots of Chanel eye candy.
While we anxiously wait for fall collections to trickle in, Chanel fans are filling their closets with an array of goodies to lust over. Chanel does color so well, and while we adore a good black bag, one of our favorite things is to see the variety of colors our members gravitate toward.
Shoes were a purchase of choice this month, too, with users creating perfect pairings to wear all summer long. Overall, this month offered plenty of pinks (including tweed!), shades of blue and green, and an eye-catching pop of yellow. Check it all out below, and for more visit TPF!
Love, love the Chanels in delicious colors. I was never a Chanel girl and now I have purchased 4 of them in the past year alone. Can’t decide if I want a Chanel tweed handbag next or a bubble gum pink handbag. Either way, I’m a recent convert with a flair for all things Chanel.
Just another perspective to think about: I’m a senior citizen and spent decades frittering away my hard earned $$ on luxury items, including Chanel. These things brought pleasure at the time but in hindsight it wasn’t wise. If I’d invested the unbelievable amount I blew over decades, I’d be so much better financially now. What’s currently important to you won’t always be and these “things” we think we have to have now may bring regret/negative repercussions down the road.
I’m in your age bracket and did the same. However, I also waited until I put my 3 kids through college and law school, as a single mom. Then, I splurged and splurged! Anyway, after making too many Chanel and Hermes purchases I stopped because I was out of control. Eventually, I sold off most of my collection and invested in stocks which slowly put me back in the black. I had fun, but also learned from my mistakes. Hopefully, other shoppers are more prudent because, in time, poor financial decisions catch up with you.
So true, Amy! Amazing how our perspective on what’s important changes over time. I do believe in splurging, however, on occasion. It’s what makes life fun and enjoyable, especially in our younger years. The key though is moderation. No matter how much a fashionista one claims to be, an endless array of expensive bags (or shoes or clothes, for that matter) is such overkill, unless you can well afford them.
Thank you. This is wise advice.
You only live once! Might as well be in style!
Nice to read all the Chanel love here and not badmouthing them on their price. It is what it is. You either love them or you don’t and that’s OK. I have five Chanel bags in different colors and styles and I am here to tell you that when I carry one I still feel a little bit excited to do so. I don’t have that with other bags, (I do have it with my Hermes Evelyne!) Life is short. Have fun, dress for yourself and enjoy how you present yourself to the world. It’s amazing what a Chanel bag can do when you’re wearing jeans and a T-shirt with some sneakers!
I have the same feeling with my Evelyne!
I love these beautiful Chanel bags!! I only own one, a black 255, and it’s my favorite bag.
I just bought a black rectangular Chanel and a light pink Chanel bag with the handle. I love them.
Gorgeous bags!!! Love to see the leap of faith with all the color! I bought all my new Chanel bags back in 2005-2010, ( now I wont pay the retail prices) but occasionally pick up a pre-owned, but I always regretted not buying a black classic flap, I have a classic jumbo in bubble gum pink and a classic white mini square. Now I’m glad I went with my instincts on the colors after seeing this! I’m glad to see that others aren’t buying all black and neutrals, live a little they are so much more striking in these beautiful colors! Love the raffia one too, best one I’ve seen!
My first store bought Chanel was a medium CF in a gorgeous pastel mint green very similar to @pimkgiel723’s and I’m so glad I went colour over neutral.
I’ve wanted a pair of the pearl slides for years. Haven’t found them.
