Prada has carved a substantial space in its lineup for the Prada Buckle Bag. We’ve seen it when it was first introduced and again through new interpretations. With time, the brand has done what it does best: perfect that design with updates and additions, which brings us one of the most stunningly ideal variations, the bucket version of the Prada Buckle Bag.
First unveiled during the Spring/Summer 2025 fashion show and based on the two-handle Prada Buckle, this bag spotlights the brand’s expertise in finding the ideal balance between contemporary design and timeless allure.
The bags I find myself most drawn to are as versatile as our lives expect us to be, and this bag checks all the boxes.
The Prada Buckle Bag
The qualities of this style are classic and puristic to the brand, with proportions, design elements, and fabrications that tie back to the House.

Prada offers a studded leather belt with a bold, punk-inspired edginess. The smooth leather is contrasted by eye-catching metal studs, adding a rebellious flair. The interplay between these two elements offers an unexpected and contemporary touch.
But this bag also offers something striking and unexpected: a jewel-like belt closure crafted from gold metallic mesh that quickly becomes the standout element. To further amplify this, a resin buckle with a tortoiseshell effect is attached to the belt.
The bucket design, along with the smooth and supple calfskin leather, allows for ease of carrying. The silhouette is both sophisticated and highly functional, with a sleek, body-hugging shape. The adjustable leather handle allows for different ways to carry, turning this into the right bag for the right moment.

Seen On
Being able to see a bag come to life on a person and off the shelves helps to transport our imaginations into a place of understanding: Would this bag work for me? How does it look in use? How does it hang when being carried?
We saw a few fashion week goers carrying the style last month in Milan, and it only furthered my adoration for the design. I have always been drawn to bags that feel like they will become part of me, my wardrobe, and my lifestyle. The Prada Buckle Bag achieves this with the effortless elegance and refined sophistication that the House is renowned for.
This bag exemplifies the Prada with which I first fell in love, the Prada that has stayed with me on my 20-year journey in the handbag world, and the Prada that will forever hold a piece of my heart.

What no, this bag is hideous
the clothes and shoes are gorgeous but this bag is ugly
Not sure what is happening with designer handbags but there seems to be a HUGE disparity between quality, style and price. This is just another prime example. $5,500?? Really?
The belt motif is not doing it for me. Not subversive enough to be cool and edgy, not interesting enough to be smart and sophisticated, not pretty enough to be classic and elegant. Just meh.
I typically never post negative comments, but there is just something “off” with these bags. The mesh belt idea is cute but the scale and buckle make it look… I can’t think of another word.. dumb. The studded belt is interesting, but niche, and the bag is nothing without the belts. I think it would have been better if they’d leaned into the DIY look and sold the different belts separately. Lastly, they are wayyyyy over priced for what they are.
The clothes, especially the tailored pieces are STUNNING and I would definitely consider purchasing. The bag is meh at best
Ugliest bag of the year.
I don’t like the one with studs but the metal one I love!!!
