Recapture All Your 90s Teen Dreams with This Dolce & Gabbana Stuffed Animal Backpack

I was born in 1985, which means my first interest in fashion and aesthetics started to bubble up in the mid-to-late 90s, which, if anything, should allow me a significant aesthetic handicap. My significant nostalgia for the era means I have a soft spot in my brain for brown lipstick, striped baby tees, Doc Martens and stuffed animal backpacks. On the last part, it looks like I’m not alone: the Dolce & Gabbana Leopard Backpack graced the brand’s Fall 2017 runway with its considerable elegance, and it can be yours for the low, low price of $1,195 (half up front, half when this delicate creature begins its journey to your door).

If I were mad about this bag, this is where I’d proudly proclaim my indignation, but I am not. Yes, the price is wild. Yes, someone will make a copycat version, and it will be just as good and probably like $50. It’ll be Forever 21, or maybe ASOS. I will consider buying one or both of them and probably never wear them, but nonetheless enjoy possessing them. Sometimes that’s just how it goes in fashion.

Much of the rest of Dolce & Gabbana’s Fall 2017 collection is also available for pre-order via Moda Operandi, including more conventional luxury bags and accessories. I’m not sure how anyone expects them to compete with the pure mid-90s teen movie sartorial majesty of this thing, though. You can pre-order this lil guy for $1,195 if you have more money than sense (which is all of us, sometimes) or shop the rest of the collection four the next four days via Moda Operandi.
