Earlier this month, Louis Vuitton presented a stunning collection of bags on the runway during its Pre-Fall 2023 presentation in Seoul. Louis Vuitton, through the lens of Nicolas Ghesquiere, is distinct. Classic yet contemporary, each collection offers nods to the past, reimagining Louis Vuitton’s rich history, and Pre-Fall 2023 was no different. House emblems like the iconic Alma bag hit the runway alongside new classics like the Speedy and the Petite Malle. Today, the collection has hit the internet, and we’ve got a first look at some of the bags that just dropped.
Metallic Monogram and More
Celebrating some of the Maison’s boldest style codes, the bags feature a unique allure combining avant-garde accents with vintage aesthetics. The bags feel contemporary and fresh with an edgy but feminine finish. For Pre-Fall, classic Monogram is revisited and reinvented with pieces from the new Monoglam collection showcasing a jacquard canvas finished with a special coating that shines, creating a unique metallic-effect finish.
Silhouettes like the Nano Speedy, the Loop bag, the Neverfull, and the Petite Malle are given the metallic makeover this new season, and while on the runway, Monoglam was presented in gold; the technique is also presented in navy blue. A new staple for the House, tapping into Louis Vuitton’s History in travel and trunk-making, the Side Trunk is crafted in Navy Monoglam. This canvas uses a laminated jacquard base combining cotton and lurex for a shiny finish.
