In recent years, few archival collections have launched with as much fanfare as the relaunch of Louis Vuitton x Takashi Murakami. The buzz surrounding this launch was unheard of, and the leaks began nearly as soon as the rumor mill started swirling.
Fans shared everything from what they hoped they would see in the collection to sneak peeks of lookbooks shared with VIPs for pre-orders. Once Louis Vuitton confirmed what items would be released, fans ate it up, dissecting ad campaigns and sharing wishlists of their dream items, from most wanted to least.
Last month, the second chapter of LV x TK hit, and like Multicolore Monogram, fans clamored to get their hands on anything they could from the collection. Stock levels left many fans feeling frustrated, with shoppers waiting in long lines only to discover that stores didn’t receive any items.
Many of us felt the same pain, but seeing the many Cherry Blossoms hauls forum members shared on tPF eased it a little. I’m saying hauls are tacky, but when it comes to members of our community I feel we should be a bit more kind and not attack one another. We are all just people.
