Last week, I shared the rumor that Louis Vuitton x Murakami would be returning in 2026, and while it was a rumor, it had good intel behind it. This week, that intel was able to share so much more about what’s to come, and it’s a lot. Thanks to Louis Vuitton aficionado @mattd74, we now have a comprehensive look at the first major drop of LV x TM, which is set to launch on January 2, 2026. If you are a fan of Monogram Multicolor, this is going to be for you.
New Louis Vuitton x Murakami Bags
There is a lot, and I mean a lot, of new Monogram Multicolor in white. Some beloved styles were given the LV x Murakami treatment, including a Neverfull MM (commenters are excited about this one) and the Key Pouch (another fan favorite). While there is a ton of newness, there are also repeat bags, which we are not picturing.
Similar to all of its major launches, Louis Vuitton will begin taking pre-orders from VIP clients early December (typically this opens about a month before the launch). The release date is currently scheduled for January 2nd, 2026.
And while this launch is exciting in itself, it also implies that more exciting limited-edition launches will follow in 2026.
LV x Murakami Repeated Items
While there is plenty of newness for this upcoming launch, there is also a second chance at bags that were part of the first revival in 2025. Some collectors and fans believe this shouldn’t happen, as the bags were intended to be limited in both launch and accessibility. When I was 10 I moved to the US and saw the original collections back in the early 2000s, I fell in love with the cherries and multicolour and of course my mum would never let me have one. So as an adult with adult money buying a piece from the Murakami re-releases is me living out a childhood dream! Who cares if it’s tacky, if you love it, buy it!
I feel the same way too. I was young and broke and drooling over the multicolor collection whenever I saw celebrities carrying one in the magazine not knowing much about the LV line but I knew it was a special bag. I saw someone holding it once in the speedy 30 waiting by the elevator in the hotel I was working at and I was like wow that bag was in the magazine! Who knew today I would order the multicolor On-The-Go pm bag! It will take 7-9 weeks to come in!
Same girl. Seeing Jessica Simpson Carrie this when I was a broke young adult it was a pipe dream. I’m so thrilled to be able to buy that piece now!

I’m excited to see the continuation of this line! I know a lot of people mention that a reissue takes away the exclusivity of the original run of multicolor but like…that print was in production for 11+ years before it was discontinued.

I am strictly a fan of the black multicolor pieces but still find these so much fun! I love the excitement around this new release and look forward to hearing how the quality compares to my original items.
