Luxury fashion is experiencing major upheaval, and the business’s tumultuous nature shows no signs of slowing. That said, it makes sense that designers are stripping it back, returning to inspirations that revolve around community and shared lived experiences.
While at Valentino, that meant a public restroom; at Louis Vuitton, it meant the platform of a train, a place where people from all walks of life converge. Nicolas Ghesquière was inspired by the many emotions that take place there. The anxiousness of time passing, the sadness of saying goodbye, or the joyous celebration of reunion. The excitement of departing for adventure or the tranquility of returning home.
A Sense of Adventure at Louis Vuitton Fall 2025
To further emphasize its theme, Louis Vuitton held the Fall 2025 show at L’Étoile du Nord, a stunning 19th-century building that was once the headquarters of a train company. Inspired by the adventure and enchantment of it all, Ghesquière presented a collection of ready-to-wear representing the various archetypes you’d find in a station going to and from.

Of course, the collection is heavy on outerwear, with rain-slickers and technical jackets sitting alongside trenches and capes cinched with canvas belt bags. Wardrobe essentials like denim and leather are given the Ghesquière touch, while the traditional tracksuit is reinvented.
The Bags of Louis Vuitton Fall 2025
As for the bags, this collection is primed for Louis Vuitton’s signatures, especially those rooted in travel, like the iconic Keepall and the Alma. Other silhouettes include hand-carried trunks, a distorted version of the Petite Malle, and an oversized Dauphine Soft.
As for newness, collectors will go crazy for the distinct Etui Ukulele bag. Fall 2025 also introduces the wearable new L’Express bag, which echos the timelessness and clean lines of the Keepall. L’Express arrives in bold color combinations and neutrals alike, defined by its functionality offering multiple ways of carrying, and a range of sizes.

I wish we could go back to the days when Marc Jacobs was at Louis Vuitton, and Nicolas Ghesquiere was still at Balenciaga. That is when they did great things. Now …. not so much.
I echo your sentiment, this collection is full of homeless looking outfits, dreary tired bags and don’t even get me started about those clunky shoes! I would rather buy an outfit from Gap than this mess. This is an adventure nobody wants to take!
been a while since I’ve seen an unhoused person in sequins and lace, but what do I know. I think it’s funny how you would compare an avant garde designer to the gap as though there was any point in that. y’all are just vicious for the sake of it.
Not sure if vicious is fair. Maybe just privileged and oblivious to the rest of the world?!
What. A. Mess.
This show looks messy. Maybe that’s what the house was going for, and I don’t get it. Maybe I should watch the show on YouTube.
Some lovely bags. The tweed LV biker is gorgeous. Clothes are a mess and the shoes are hideous
Not that interested in most of the bags or clothes, but I do like that suitcase bag in photo 25. I’d love to take that traveling with me.
I loved the whole thing. It was like a crazy cartoon! I want to see the leather up close on those keepalls! What the heck are those weird bedrolls!? The capes , trippy skirts and fat marshmallow boots? So much fun and so what if I’m not going to see this stuff in practical use. I certainly think a ukelele bag is an idea whose time has come!! After the insanity in our world right now, this was a delightful relief.
