These days it has become commonplace for brands to dip into their archives for inspiration, and the archival revival trend shows absolutely no signs of slowing down. Sometimes, a revival is given a slight update to modernize a dated silhouette; other times, a re-issue is like taking a step back in time.
Nicolas Ghesquière is one of many Creative Directors who continues to explore the vast historical archives of a brand’s past, and the latest bag from Louis Vuitton is not an exact replica. Rather, it’s meant to feel retro but modern.
Introducing the Louis Vuitton Sac Sport
Taking just a hint of inspiration from House archives, the newly-introduced Sac Sport is described as a retro-chic silhouette that takes inspiration from the archives. Its curved lines offer a vintage appeal, with signature crafted details that add a touch of modernity, like a classic LV padlock and key.
As Louis Vuitton continues to expand its leather offerings, the Sac Sport is introduced in soft Monogram Empreinte embossed leather. The juxtaposition of the casual retro shape with the chic, supple Monogram Empreinte leather makes for an easy-to-wear silhouette that perfectly transitions from day to night.
Sac Sport Size and Price

It’s boring from other brands and it’s boring from Louis Vuitton. And that’s coming from someone who owns a lot of Louis Vuitton!
First off, we like LV, we’re not hating on the brand. Both my husband and I own LV products. Wallets, bags, SLGs. BUT there is nothing special about this bag. For 2000 less than I would pay for ONE of these bags, I was able to order TWO of the new Polene Nodde bags. Hmmmm…
It looks like a copy of the Prada re-nylon! It looks nice but it’s not original at all!
They obviously mean Prada archives.
Originally
I thought it was Prada – and I never cared for that one, so this does mot appeal.
BORING
I like the bag and it’s simplicity. A bag I would like to have in my closet. The bummer is the price. Too much.
I’m falling more out of love with fashion with every new release. Sigh.
Eh. Looks like you could buy it anywhere.
I am sure that Bernard Arnault wants to make more money so he can keep up his billionaire record. But yes design is indeed boring.
Yes, Bernard Arnault wants to make more money. And so does everyone else. What’s your point? 🙄
