During every round of shows, I create a mental list of the bags and accessories I’m most excited to see make their debuts in stores. Last September, during the Spring 2017 shows in Paris, the Louis Vuitton Chain It Bag shot to the top of my list. Back then, I didn’t know its name or have any info about it beyond my immediate excitement, but now that the bag has made its debut for shoppers, there’s much more to report.

So far, the Chain It Bag is only available in one size, PM. As with most of Vuitton’s PM bags, that means it’s petite but far from tiny–at a little over nine inches wide and seven inches high, it’ll hold your phone, wallet and sunglasses without a problem, which makes it a perfect weekend bag. The PM currently comes in three materials, with slight price variances for each: calfskin, Epi leather and monogram canvas, although the canvas version has significant leather components.

The bag is my favorite marquee piece debuted by creative director Nicolas Ghesquiere during his tenure at Louis Vuitton so far. It doesn’t try to reimagine Vuitton’s initials or simply fill a necessary spot in the brand’s leather lineup; instead, the Chain It is just a beautiful, unique bag that feels quintessentially Louis Vuitton in a way that’s both subtle and beautiful. Check out the current prices and availability below.

I’ve seen this bag all over Instagram. This is the first time since the Twist and the Capucines that I’ve been interested in an LV bag. Love the monogram with the black.

If there is one thing I seriously dislike its the LV monogram. HOWEVER….I’m loving it in #3!!! They should do more black leather / mono combos!

Been stalking this bag for ages, now it’s finally appeared on the website I’m a little disappointed in the look of it :-/ Maybe it looks better in real life and the stock photos don’t do it justice?

I’m sorry. This is pretty tacky.

Mehhh. Nothing special to justify paying more than two grand. Plus the shoulder strap is only removable, not adjustable. Pass.
