This fall, Nicolas Ghesquière celebrates a decade of his tenure at Louis Vuitton. His appointment marked a new chapter for the Maison, and in the last ten years, fans have been delighted by Louis Vuitton through Ghesquière’s lens. Louis Vuitton brings back one of his early designs this fall, joining the ranks of the House’s other new classics like the Capucines, Twist, and Dauphine.
The Louis Vuitton GO-14 Bag, Reimagined
First introduced on the runway for Spring 2015, Nicolas Ghesquière revisits the GO-14 bag this season. The GO-14 fuses Louis Vuitton’s brand heritage with modern-day appeal, offering a unique combination of classic and contemporary. This fusion comes together thanks to the LV Twist closure and the bag’s quilting, which ties back to the Maison’s rich history in trunk-making. The crisscrossing pattern of the GO-14 mimics the interior of Louis Vuitton trunks. This tactile, padded technique is known as malletage.
Furthering the Maison’s commitment to innovation, the new renditions of the GO-14 explore exciting new techniques, offering an innovative edge. Padded lambskin leather is quilted and given a “toasted effect.” Applied by hand, this finish gives the GO-14 a unique, sophisticated feel with a touch of shine.
“There are some universal codes that exist solely in Louis Vuitton. It was about reappropriating and transposing them into a new setting.” – Nicolas Ghesquière
The emblematic LV Twist lock further defines the bag, which features a top handle and adjustable chain. Both handles are completely removable, so they can be worn independently or simultaneously. The interior is fitted with a zipped pocket and a flat pocket with a mirror that fits inside. This season, the GO-14 line also sees the addition of the Pico GO-14, a mini version with a crossbody chain strap. The GO-14 showcases Louis Vuitton’s history while spotlighting the expertise of Louis Vuitton’s ateliers. A stunning silhouette that can be dressed up or down, discover more of the GO-14 below.

Beautiful bag, but not for ~$7,000.
I’m sure it’s well made but it looks like every other bag out there.
I don’t hate it but it feels a little like a Chanel bag and at that price point that’s probably what I’d buy. And the brown color speaks a little turtlesque to me.
Agreed. Dior and Prada also have puffy bags, but their patterns are unique and on brand. The diamond pattern makes it look too much like chanel.
Boring. The same bags over and over again…
I like it…I think??? But it also reminds me of a baked ham with cloves (shrugging).
you are so funny :))))
I love this bag because of the details. It’s really luxurious.
I wish LV would do a modern re-launch of Murakami Multicolor
They won’t. I asked awhile back and was told that the royalties they pay from the Murakami line meant that they were never going to do it again. You’d think that at these prices they can more than factor that in, but there you go.
I love the Alma GM in this puffy pattern
Oh me too!!
Not only are they ugly but that price point is ridiculous!!!
I adore the graphite grey one and may have to see if I can get my hands on one. It looks like a very versatile bag that would suit most evening outfits. I like Chanel but don’t find the interiors very useable, love the idea that you can take off one or both of the handles and find the addition of the piping really wonderful. One of the nicest bags I’ve seen from any house of late.
I have the brown bag, it’s more beautiful in person, so worth the money!
Love that the bags are being shown with denim.
The dress is Louis Vuitton too!
If they made this bag in denim I’d be sold!
It’s cute but definitely not $4k cute
The brown reminds me of a baked ham. Love the pico though!
Baked ham! That made me laugh!
I’m sorry, but these look like the Twist/Twist One Handle, just quilted and more expensive.
