Icons Are Reinvigorated at Loewe for Fall 2022

Jonathan Anderson reinvents fan-favorite bags like the Puzzle, Flamenco and Goya

Fashion. It’s meant to elicit a reaction, to make its wearer portray a message to those around them, and Loewe’s latest collection is all about pieces that entice a response. Show notes describe the RTW as “primitive with the thrill of kink.” One of Jonathon Anderson’s edgiest collections for Loewe yet, the Fall 2022 runway presentation was eye-catching, show-stopping, and not to be missed.

An array of materials were used throughout, like tweed, leather, latex, silk, and even resin. The collection itself was maddening at times, but methodically so, and polished colorways point back to Loewe’s foundation and skill as a leather-based brand. Speaking of leather, there were many bags shown on the runway, and uniquely, we’ve got a close-up look at the brand’s new fall bags in addition to runway looks.

The Puzzle Bag, Reinvented

Loewe continues to focus on its most iconic bags this season, reinventing them to feel modern, fresh, and interesting but still possessing that timeless Loewe feel. The Puzzle Bag is shown in solid colors with a chain detailing while the Goya bag becomes exaggerated, inflated to resemble a puffy and padded pillow-like shape. The Flamenco bag continues to be a focus this season as well, clutched by models in varying hues that showcase the beauty of Loewe’s leatherwork.

For a second, I thought they were wearing Flamencos on their feet. Lol.

Their designs are already so iconic I don’t see the need to add extra bells and whistles, like the chain on the puzzle and their brand splashed across the strap like what other brands are doing. But I guess they have to change things up every season.

In Loewe you always will find the classic Puzzles or Goya. But this is Vogue.

That dark chocolate brown puzzle is gorgeous!

Dave

Great collection JW Anderson for a centenarial Maison. There is a mix between classic with surreal shapes and art pieces like the clutches.

I’m surprised I like so many of these pieces💗

I like the first bag A LOT. But that’s about it.

while im a big fan of loewe, some features like the chain straps, puffy leather and oversized logo…. thave all been done by many other brands that I can think of.

yeah, I feel like Loewe is just too late to the puffer party. It’s been a fun trend but I don’t think it’s here to stay and honestly they would have done better to stay in their lane (classic, focus on craftsmanship) than to chase the pillow trend.

What’s up with #6? Big bows and fur? Is that fur attached to her dress or an animal on her leg? What a mess!

Panda

Actually I like it. It’s quite unique design and eye catching style.
Don’t think it’s mess design at all.
