kate spade new york always provides a fun atmosphere and show during New York Fashion Week. The Fall 2016 collection was no different, perched high above the NYC skyline in the famous Rainbow Room, Deborah Lloyd took cues from ballet and jazz singers, with models standing on a circular, rotating stage. Alice Smith sang with a live band accompanying her and guests were offered mini hamburgers and fries (thank you kate spade for always offering to feed us!).
The collection was inspired by big names of the stage like ballerina Tamara Rojo and singers Billie Holiday and Sade. Like most kate spade collections, playful and wearable meld seamlessly. There were novelty bags as there always are, along with sleek shoulder bags that offer clean lines and would work well for daily use. The clothing varied from bold prints to florals to wearable solids.

Image 3 — the embossed black clutch w/ the tassels. I need it. Where do I find it?! Will it be on their site soon?
Since this is FW16, not until mid to late summer at the earliest. Loving the collection!
Oh silly me — Of course. I think I just got over-excited!
love the perfume bottle clutch. its subtle enough to be wearable but still playful. also love the show. food & cocktails and fashion seem right up my street. so many other shows seem so serious and sterile.
The black bag in slide 10 looks like a Celine.
I thought it looked more like the Chloe Drew bag
Kate Spade bags are always fun and really overlooked. I bought my first one recently and it is my first contemporary designer bag and I really like it. My only complaint is the cheap lining and I feel that the thin Saffiano leather is backed by something cheap. Also I find it a little tacky “Kate Spade New York made in Vietnam.” Really?
