New Bag I Am Obsessing Over: Wandler Hortensia Bag

This new designer has a bag that I can't stop thinking about

Amanda and I have been talking about it quite a bit, but right now is such an exciting time for new bag brands in the under-$1,000 range. There are so many brands that are creating innovative designs, and I have become obsessive about finding them. I already covered some of my favorite brands to watch for this year, and one of the brands I included, I’ve become quite enamored with.

Enter Wandler, the Amsterdam-based brand that is now carried at Net-A-Porter and making waves in the handbag realm. I personally am in love with the Wandler Hortensia Bag. I included this bag in my roundup earlier this year, but the recent drop on Net-A-Porter has color combinations that have me swooning.

The brand was only established in 2017, and like many other new brands, it has received a good amount of footing via Instagram. I’ve spotted the bag on people’s arms on the app, and that is how I first got hooked. Each design is handmade in Italy, and the leather and colors appear impeccably well-crafted.

The shape of the Hortensia is very unique, and I think that’s one aspect that many new bag designers are honing in on: create a shape that is entirely ours. Because of this, when I see the almost half-moon shape of the bag, I immediately recognize it as Wandler. I haven’t seen this bag in person, so I’ve reached out to see if I can get a press sample to review, but dimensions seem to hit that perfect-everyday-bag range (23.5cm H x 34cm W x 6cm D). There’s a top handle or an adjustable shoulder strap, which to me is typically a must, and the interior has two compartments to keep your belongings organized.

There are a couple Net-A-Porter exclusive colorways which I am swooning over, including this pink version which is a tri-color combination of pink, blush, and sand, and there’s this neutral option with sand, taupe and white leather, and this blue version which is just dreamy. Another option I love is this mint hue because it looks refreshing and then there’s this light pink, burgundy and sage trifecta that’s divine.

Shop all Wandler bags at Net-A-Porter.com.
