Introducing the Goyard Saint-Leger Bag

There's a brand new backpack in town from Goyard

Goyard is one of the few luxury brands that releases new styles with little to no fanfare. In fact, if you don’t pay close enough attention it’s very easy to miss when new styles are launched as the brand chooses to keep things hush hush, steering clear of flashy runway shows, editorial previews and public launches. The brand even held off making its instagram debut until 2016, years after most major fashion houses had begun to utilize the social channel as a marketing tactic. Thus, news and details of fresh new styles is hard to come by, but today we’ve got a treat for you. We’re giving you all the details on Goyard’s newest bag complete with elusive price information. Meet the Goyard Saint-Leger Bag.

This bag is a contemporary take on a Goyard classic—the iconic St. Lucie, which was the ideal travel companion. The Saint-Leger bag works double time as it can transform from a backpack into a soft travel bag, and it easily folds to fit into a larger bag, making it an ideal extra travel bag. In classic Goyardine Canvas the Saint-Leger Bag is incredibly lightweight and durable. It meticulously marries Goyard’s classic style with a modern twist. The Saint-Leger Bag is available in one size, and 4 colors. Black, and black/tan retail for $2,380, while navy and grey are priced at $3,090. For availability visit Goyard.com or call 212-813-0005.

Unlike others on this thread, I have no problem with the Goyardine. However, I find this model to be uninspired and it looks uncomfortable for a backpack.

Sandy K

I agree. It’s not an in your face print like most of the other big names. When I read backpack, I was hoping for something less structured.

Kate

I like Goyard, but I hate this particular bag.

Sandy K

I like Goyard as well. Sadly, too structured for a backpack.

Sparky

Absolutely hideous. No wonder they are hush-hush about launches.

Lina Lee

I agree with you that is absolutely hideous. And the price tag for bag like that it’s ridiculous.

PJGambler

I’ve never understood the appeal of this print–

Sana

Agree!

kathrin9674

me, too

Sparky

The pattern works nicely in SLG’s because its small. The problem for me is the shape and design of the bags. They look cheap and frumpy which makes the print look worse

helleaux

I feel the same way about the MCM print.

MamaK279

I agree. At that price point, I don’t get it.

Sana

Same here!

Jerri R

MCM is tacky ugly

Bryan Lepe

Like taking a picture of yourself holding a crocodile birkin with 10 Cartier love bracelets stacked on one wrist lol

psny15

Hahaha ??

Sana

Ha ha!

Jerri R

Ain’t that the truth!

Donna Warder

Brandi, we don’t care. If you don’t want to talk handbags, then bye, bye.

Olivia Isaksson

I feel that way about both this and the MCM print.

memsy

I’ve never understood the appeal of Goyard. And, this particular bag looks like a vinyl lunch bag to me.

Jerri R

Extremely overrated for bags with so many quality issues

Donna Warder

Seriously.

Sandy K

What quality issues does Goyard have? I own several, plus a wallet and zipper pouch. All are beautifully made.

Donna Warder

There’s a big problem with the strap of the St. Louis. Because it’s painted, it peels easily.

Yo Momma

Couldn’t agree more. The SLGs wear like iron and are so nice & light.

jackiequeue

That’s honestly kinda why I like it. But it’s also exactly why I wouldn’t put out $3K for it.

Bryan Lepe

The navy one is more attractive than the tan one.

Olivia Isaksson

Please make a post about Simon Miller bags! 🙂

Vlad Dusil

Thanks for suggesting, we’ll check’em out!

Olivia Isaksson

Thanks! How fun! I’m looking forward to it! 🙂

Syoo

Please do it! ?

Aliza Zibkoff

The silhouette is just so blah! And the price tag makes it even less appealing. I agree the print is a textured bore but at least used on the St. Louis the silhouette is attractive and practical.

Candee

I don’t understand what anyone sees in the Goyard brand. It’s bland, unimaginative and just plain ugly.

Christian Morales

How much is that bag?

Vlad Dusil

Black, and black/tan retail for $2,380, navy and grey are priced at $3,090.

Kim

I love the Goyard cat bag and use it as a pet carrier. My husband travels a lot for work so our little dog travels with us in the bag. She loves it and gets excited whenever I bring it out. I would consider the Goyard Anjou reversible with the monogram pattern inside. Not a huge fan of monogram bags either.

Sandy K

I have the Goyard cat bag and purchased it when first released. I believe it was actually originally intended to be a pet carrier.

Vicky

At least, it’s one of a few backpack to make sense enough to have the secure pocket that face the back of the carrier.

Electricboots

I do not understand the appeal of the Goyard print. I live in a mid size city in the Northeast and never see Goyard. I went to San Fransisco a couple months ago and saw them everywhere! Maybe its more of a West coast thing? In any case this bag looks like a lunch bag. No thanks.

Aki Patel

Hi, I am excited about my new Goyard purchase, watch it on my channel https://youtu.be/4RCyJS6fHvI

Nick

This is my favorite bag – best bag they have!!! So versatile, so comfortable!
