Diane de Maria Bonnie Bag

Sometimes all a designer needs is an A-list celeb to be spotted carrying their bag before their name and designs are being seen, heard, and sought after. That is what is happening with designer Diane de Maria right now. After Sarah Jessica Parker was spotted toting the same hot pink bag, we tracked down the designer and bag, finding out it is the Diane de Maria Bonnie Bag.

Diane de Maria comes from an artistic background, as she is the great-granddaughter of famed painter Pierre de Maria. Her collection of bags infuses her artistic background with her travels, the passage of time, and reconciliation of the past and the future. Upon first glance the engraving in each design is hard to recognize, but upon closer inspection the geometric lines are clear.

The shape of the Bonnie Bag is similar to that of the Louis Vuitton Speedy. The handbag SJP is carrying is the Bonnie in the small size which is not available in stores yet as it is part of the Spring/Summer 2010 collection. Price is $1500. There are winter colors available in this bag at Beyond Seven, 601 West 27th Street, New York, NY 10001

Sarah Jessica Parker has clearly put Diane de Maria on the map and I am sure we will be hearing more of the designer in the future. More on Diane de Maria online HERE.

Very hot bags…The Winter colors shown on the website are stunning, love the graphic detailing.

When I saw it, I thought LV too!

  • Diane

Not a fan…I like my art on my walls. Looks alot like a structured LV Speedy though…

I love that color and would wear it year round. However, it’s not practical in my daily life since I need a shoulder bag. The two kids warrant it.

  • ZJ

This is a barbi doll purse. I don’t care if SJP is wearing it. Honestly, I value all artistry and craftsmanship and am really open-minded, but this is an overgrown little girl’s purse that is not unique or too terribly creative.

If people buy this it’s because they want a little girl-looking purse, or because they’ll buy anything that SJP buys. I can’t imagine any other reason.

beautiful bag, but not very practical and a bit overpriced.

  • Jane

I love how this hot pink color people say is too young for her. I hate that I feel that why should we limit ourselves to different colors because of age. I just don’t understand that argument.

    • Mochababe73

I don’t either. I wear all shades of pink including this shade. I could care less about who’s wearing. To be honest, I don’t really care for SJP’s style. I like classic all-American looks like Ralph Lauren, Tommy Hilfiger, and Michael Kors with a little Marc Jacobs thrown in for an edge.
I guess that I would be one of those overgrown little girls who would wear a Barbie doll purse yet still own a kick a$$ black Marc Jacobs.

Love this bag…I wouldn’t punk dowm $1500 for it myself, but I think it’s very cool, regardless of which celeb carries it. I appreciate the clean lines and the graphic design – and the color! This is a much better use of neon pink than I have seen in other lines, in my opinion.

  • Loquita

Oops…sorry about my typos above. :) I meant to say that I wouldn’t PLUNK DOWN that much $ for this design, despite the fact that I do love it.

  • Beth

I agree, I think it’s too expensive. But I do like it. Love the graphic design and the other colours it’s available in are terrific too. But $1500 is too much.

This is a great bag, and SJP has mastered the way to wear it- simple, casual-chic outfit for a hot pink artsy bag.

  • Alyson

It’s the first bag that has caught my attention in a long time. That’s a good thing!

  • neli

Ugh, looks like a child drew on that purse. Plus, the hot pink and drawing makes it look childish to me. And no way I’ll ever spend $1.4K on that bag. I rather get the Prada Fairy bag over this one.

  • Beyond7

The bag is available by special order only at Beyond7 Boutique for $1512. It is a limited edition and only 50 will be produced in the entire world. To order call (646)-619-6857.

Boring people are the ones who say pink is for little girls! Live a little, it’s FASHION!!
