When Matthew Williams made his runway debut for Givenchy, it was incredibly apparent that there was a brand new Givenchy in town. Unafraid of innovation, Williams was not scared of pushing the envelope or garnering attention from industry insiders and Givenchy fans alike. He debuted a collection of bags that were vastly different from anything that had come before. Williams’ Givenchy exudes power, edginess, and it begs to see and be seen. The New Givenchy
For Spring 2022, the designer introduces a brand new bag, once again designed to wow. The Kenny packs a punch in both statement and style, designed to function as a true day-to-evening bag and created by Williams with a unique versatility in mind. The Kenny’s strong brand DNA shines thanks to the Creative Director’s vision and signature flair for hardware, which has been a focus since Williams’ tenure began.
Crafted in smooth, soft calf leather, which is apparent even from photos, the Kenny has an intricate, rounded shape with distinctive hand-draped folds. The unique construction of the Kenny makes the bag stand out, as does its chain strap, which is interspersed with Givenchy’s G-Cube detailing. Its graceful, feminine allure is juxtaposed with Givenchy’s newest icon, the edgy double G padlock. Luxe, yet practical details include an internal magnetic closure that fastens securely and a lambskin leather lining. The Kenny bag is the perfect modern-day carryall, melding high-fashion elements with hints of casual streetwear.

I have it in 2 colors, and I really like it. But, I’ve always loved frame bags! The lock is removable, and I like that it’s leather lined. I totally get that not everyone is into the grunge/ punk look tho. As a 90’s kid, I am absolutely drawn to anything like this! On another note, the team I’ve always worked with at Givenchy is made up of some of the nicest people I’ve ever met, and provide impeccable customer service. So I enjoy buying from a company/ people who truly want my business & make the experience of doing that so elevated, unlike the others that shall remain nameless.
Does the lock make the bag heavy? It’s an interesting feature, but does it serve a purpose or is it a design element?
Purely decoration! It’s hefty and solid, but I don’t think it adds too much to the weight of the bag b/c it sort of rests in the folds. You can remove it tho!
