The Cult-Favorite Goyard Aligre Is Back in Cool Coral for Summer 2024

Beach chic...

Named after the picturesque Aligre farmer’s market, located in the 12th arrondissement of Paris, the Goyard Aligre quickly became a cult favorite when it was first released in 2017. A quintessential representation of French culture, the bag is modeled after the chic netted shoppers Parisian women would carry out when grocery shopping.

First released in 2017, the bag’s debut was a limited run, available only in small quantities in Goyard boutiques in Paris and Biarritz. Combining hand-braided raffia mesh with Goyard’s classic Goyardine canvas, it was first introduced in a combination of neutral hues—natural raffia with black Goyardine and brown leather trim, later yearly iterations varied in color.

A charming ode to traditional French culture, though simple, its construction encompasses the exceptional expertise of Maison Goyard. The bag also features small nods to Goyard’s history, like wooden rods, which are evocative of the wooden pieces on classic Goyard trunks.

Equal parts fashion and function, the Aligre is the perfect summer carry. Chic yet lightweight, the interior has a large pocket to hold keys, cards, and other small items you want to keep secure. The leather straps bound the bag’s sides, allowing it to mold to how empty or full it may be.

This Spring, a limited-edition Aligre hits the scene, this time in colorful coral that is sure to delight whether you’re running to the beach with a baguette in hand or heading out to a dinner al fresco; the Aligre screams summer.
