If there’s one thing Goyard does well, it’s taking something familiar and giving it just enough of a twist to make collectors pay attention. This time, the House is putting a seasonal spin on its famed, signature Goyardine canvas, introducing a vibrant new multicoloured version tied to its annual theme: The Seasons of Goyard.

The update arrives in four exclusive hues, each reflecting a different season. Summer appears in Blueberry Violet, autumn is represented by Powder Pink, winter is represented by Polar Blue, and spring is represented by Meadow Green. The colors are bright and saturated, offering a noticeably playful take on a canvas that has historically leaned more toward the classic than the colorful.

For longtime Goyard fans, the canvas itself is the real story.

A Pattern With Over a Century of History

Goyard’s signature Goyardine canvas dates back to 1892 and has become one of the most recognizable motifs in luxury travel and handbags. The repeating chevron pattern isn’t simply decorative, as each “Y” shape references the Goyard family name and the brand’s history as a trunk maker.

Traditionally, the pattern is created through a layered process that gives the canvas its signature depth and hand-painted feel. Unlike many luxury houses that frequently reinvent their logos or monograms, Goyard has remained remarkably consistent with Goyardine, which is part of what gives it such enduring appeal.

Over the years, the brand has introduced a handful of color variations beyond the original black and its other color staples, but they’ve always felt intentional and somewhat limited. Which is why moments like this tend to catch collectors’ attention (it did last year with the Pearly collection and Iris colorway!).

A Seasonal Spin on a Classic

This new multicoloured interpretation leans into Goyard’s current “Seasons” theme, pairing each hue with a time of year. The colors themselves are slightly unexpected, as Powder Pink is used for autumn, but that is part of the allure. Rather than being overly literal, the palette feels more whimsical.

What makes this release truly stand out is why Goyard calls it “multicoloured.” Unlike the brand’s previous limited editions, which often experimented with a single new shade or subtle accent colors, this collection layers multiple tones within the same canvas. Each bag subtly blends the four seasonal colors throughout the pattern, creating depth in the color palette. In fact, this collection is intriguing enough for me to decide I may need to push myself to track one of these down and purchase.

While details remain limited (true to Goyard’s famously discreet approach), the brand notes that the multicoloured Goyardine canvas will be available at Goyard stores worldwide.
