When it comes to luxury brands, few are as mysterious and shrouded in secrecy as Goyard. They have always, and continue to, do things a little differently than other luxury brands.
Typically, designer brands follow a pretty standard seasonal schedule that includes runway shoes, editorial re-sees, extensive ad campaigns, and full-scale handbag launches; Goyard does none of that.
That’s why news of a just-debuted Goyard bag is a big deal for luxury lovers and Goyard fans, specifically. Today, we have a treat for you: a brand-new bag just dropped, already piquing fans’ interest across the internet.
Introducing the Goyard Hirondelle Bag
The Goyard Hirondelle Bag combines the on-trend half-moon silhouette with Goyard’s distinct Goyardine Canvas and calfskin trim. The shape is a subtle nod to the Maison’s heritage and history of leathercraft, given the name Hirondelle for the shape of the knife craftsmen use to cut leather.
It’s been a long time since I’ve been enticed by a Goyard Bag, but I like its shape and versatility. I have a feeling that Goyard loyalists will also rush to add this bag to their rotation.
Its sleek shape allows for multiple styling options. The bag can be worn as a shoulder bag or a crossbody bag, and it features a strap with eight different holes to adjust its length.
The size of this shape is ideal for daily use, as is its ability to be worn as a crossbody bag. The one major con is that the bag features one interior zippered compartment only. There are no interior pockets or other compartments, so if you crave internal organization, this may not be the daily grab-and-go for you.
The overall dimensions are 25cm x 6cm x 17cm, and the price is $2,070. Would you give this bag a second look? Join other tPFers who are eyeing this brand-new bag over on PurseForum.

Something about their interpretation of the shape feels neither here nor there. The strap is too long for it to be a shoulder bag, the half circle is too stiff to lay cute as a crossbody, the flap is too short for it to suggest being a designed item… feels like it’s a bag trying to be a lot of things for a lot of use cases. Or maybe I just can’t imagine myself carrying it because I’m petite. Would love to see it styled, that would bring it to life more.
Copied the Polene Numero Dix! Except for the straight zipper in place of the curve, all other design details are the same. Why would Goyard do that?!
Because when you strip Goyard of its pretend exclusivity that results from its marketing and retail strategies, it’s a boring brand with basic designs and underwhelming quality.
