New York Fashion Week Fall 2018 is upon us, and beyond what will hopefully be a handful of good new bag collections for us to peruse, that means one thing: lots of beautiful, rich, famous people carrying handbags that would otherwise be somewhat difficult to work into an outfit, where you going to any event but fashion week. But what’s fashion for, if not to dream about exactly these sorts of scenario?
Lately, there have been some pretty obvious trends among the bags the glitterati choose to tote to these particular events. If a bag has lots of embellishments or is made out of an unexpected material: great. If it’s got those things and it is also in a shape that makes it sort of inconvenient to carry: even better. This is all about the look, after all. For at least a couple weeks twice a year, functionality goes out the window.
