I’ve never been married, but I do compulsively watch all of TLC’s wedding-themed reality shows, so I’ve developed quite a few opinions on wedding fashion. First, a bride should do pretty much whatever she wants, because it must suck not to feel like yourself on your wedding day. Second, not enough attention is paid to the bag a bride will carry for the big event.
Designers are starting to get wise to the fact that brides might want a special little bag to carry their phones and a lipstick for touch-ups, and since photographs of wedding accessories and shoes have long been a bridal keepsake, the look of the bag really matters.
Below, we’ve picked out over two dozen gorgeous bridal clutches for a range of budgets, aesthetics and preferences, including a few “something blues.”
I sort of wish I had paid more attention to the bag I carried at my wedding, but it was almost an after thought, there were so many other things to deal with! I ended up using a metallic clutch I already had that went just fine with my dress. However I will say that I didn’t really carry it at all. Obviously you do not carry it down the aisle, so my cousin held it for me, then it went straight to my table after the ceremony while I mingled and took pics. I carried it once to the bathroom. So while you certainly don’t want to carry something hideous, it’s not something I would personally spend a lot of money on unless I would wear it again.
omg the Natasha Couture clutches are amazing! Thanks for this new discovery.
Awwww…what sweet little clutches. I LOVE the Marchesa and Edie Parker bags!
But, I agree with anon. At a “typical” wedding you never really carry a bag so it’s not that important. Perhaps if you have a non traditional wedding in which you are traveling to several venues or leaving for your honeymoon and want to keep the “wedding-y” theme going.
That being said, these are adorable evening bags on their own and I want one for my collection!
What a gorgeous collection! Edie Parker is absolutely magical and the Anthropologie looks so precious and special.
