2026 is starting off with a majorly anticipated release, and that is the vision and first collection from Jonathan Anderson for Dior. After he was appointed the Creative Director for both men’s and women’s, the fashion world was on the edge of its seat, waiting for what was to come. And it’s beautiful. It’s feminine, artistic, and creative, paying homage to the House codes with an entirely new feel.
The new direction for Dior bags under Jonathan Anderson is undoubtedly the most exciting for us, with sneak peeks we’ve seen leading up to the full reveal. This reveal gives way to what Anderson has become known for: impeccable craftsmanship, detail, and a playfulness that doesn’t downplay the luxury while showcasing an entirely different side of the designs.
Introducing the Dior Bow Bag
The first peek at the Dior Bow Bag made it evident that this was the bag release to watch. Debuting in Jonathan Anderson’s Spring–Summer 2026 collection, the bag quite literally takes Dior’s bow motif and turns it into the silhouette itself. It’s graphic, a little playful, and very Dior, but in a way that feels fresh rather than overly precious.
What makes it work is that it’s not just about the shape. The leather is soft yet structured, with an invisible closure that keeps everything clean, and a removable chain strap featuring metal links and tiny bows for those who prefer to carry the bag over their shoulder. The coquette trend has taken a stronghold on everyone, including my 9-year-old daughter, to grown fashion-forward women, and this bag fits into that feminine trend in the most luxurious manner.

The Dior Bow Bag is available in both small and medium sizes, with options ranging from smooth, metallic, and crinkled leather to embroidered versions featuring Dior’s Buttercup Garden and Clover motifs. The color lineup is equally tempting, think black, dreamy pink, buttercup yellow, latte white, and a few richer shades in between.

Overall, the Bow Bag feels like a real fashion statement that you could actually use, not just admire.
Finished with the Dior logo and set to land in stores in January 2026, it’s starting off 2026 as a strong contender as one of the bags of the year.
The New Lady Dior Bags by Jonathan Anderson
Speaking of iconic bags, the Lady Dior can not be left out of the conversation.
Jonathan Anderson introduces two mini styles that play with some of the house’s most symbolic motifs, starting with the Mini Lady Dior Clover. It’s scattered with embroidered four-leaf clovers, a nod to Christian Dior’s belief in good fortune and Anderson’s Irish roots.
It comes in green, black, and rose soupir, and there’s even a tiny red ladybug tucked in, which feels like one of those details you notice the more you look.
The Mini Lady Dior Buttercup takes things in a slightly bolder direction, with three-dimensional buttercups covering the bag in a bright, happy yellow. A small bee, one of Dior’s longtime symbols, sits among the flowers, while the classic D-I-O-R charms bring it back to the Lady Dior we all know. These versions retain the elegance that makes this bag iconic while remaining playful and approachable.
A Reimagined Dior Book Tote Designed by Jonathan Anderson
The Dior Book Tote was revolutionary in the bag world. It was simple and straightforward, yet became one of the most notable new designs of the past decade.
For Spring–Summer 2026, Jonathan Anderson takes a more playful, story-driven approach, and honestly, it works. One of the standout versions is embroidered to look like the cover of Dior by Dior, Monsieur Dior’s autobiography, created in a soft cream with the title finished off by a sweet pink ribbon. It’s charming, clever, and feels very Dior in that quietly thoughtful way. Plus, it reinforces the coquette trend.

That literary theme carries through the collection, with Book Totes inspired by Les Liaisons Dangereuses, Madame Bovary, and Bonjour Tristesse, all translated into Dior’s signature embroidery.

Beyond the book covers, there’s plenty for longtime Book Tote lovers too, including a vintage-effect Dior Oblique canvas trimmed with delicate lace, a navy tone-on-tone version with a white medallion nodding to the house’s iconic chairs, and a Buttercup Garden print that feels especially poetic and very much tied to Monsieur Dior’s love of flowers.

And because this is a Book Tote, practicality remains a significant part of its appeal. The bag comes in four sizes, with shoulder straps on the mini through medium versions and a magnetic closure on the large.
Additionally, it features interior pockets to keep things organized. Spacious, comfortable to carry, and endlessly collectible, these new Book Totes strike that balance between heritage and modernity that Dior does so well.
More of the Bags of Dior
Additional bags are part of the first release, each tying in a whimsical touch that can be seen throughout the collection. Little bow detailing, lace trim, and soft colors abound, with different bags given the Jonthan Anderson touch.

Imagine how beautiful and creative the book covers could be based on these wonderful works of literature… and yet here we are with the most boring and basic totes ever.
Stunning?
The Bow bag looks like something by Kate Spade.
It does and is great for Kate Spade, but not so good on Dior.
The bow bags remind me of Michael Kors, to be honest. Maybe people like the stripped down low-key look but eh, the thin nothing-chain and tiny printed “Dior” feels cheap for some reason. Have we seen any rtw? Is it also boring?
True. I got the same feeling from that poor looking chain and the tiny “Dior”. I think thin chain straps on a bag don’t look nice and probably won’t feel nice on your shoulders either.
It reminded me of a pouch you would get with a purchase of cosmetics or beauty products. The leather looks supple though! But the prices? Insane!
OMG I had the same exact thought about gift-with-purchase pouches.
Uninspiring first drop. Hoping the next one will give me something to gush about.
The Lady Dior has been done to death in every iteration and colourway imaginable. Nothing JWA can do it to inspire a gasp or even mild interest. And the booktote is one of the worst bags ever conceived by the brand, imo. The bow bag is fine, but done first and better by him at LOEWE.
Dior needs a new Icon bag. I hope Anderson can deliver.
I feel the same, plus I’ve never really liked the Lady Dior, it’s a boring bag for me. The bow bag reminded me of Loewe’s soft bags but of course it’s Anderson’s. Not very inspiring for me.
Actually Valentino did a great bow collection in 2008.
Agree. The Bow bag is very Loewe looking.
It’s actually quite Kate Spade looking
I mean.. Loewe and Dior are both LVMH brands.
The Bow Bag looks pretty, the straps reminds me of Tiffany’s link chain necklace, Just worry the strap might be hurt?? And that Lady Dior, LOVE LOVE LOVE it, especially the clover and flower one.
The prices are a complete joke. Unless you have unlimited disposable income, I don’t really see how any of these bags are “worth” the money. The Lady Dior is the only one that keeps its value on the secondary market. Everything else will be half price on Fashionphile within months.
Even with unlimited disposable income why would you waste it on these tacky logo’s?
I disagree that Lady Dior bags keep their value. I tried to sell my pristine $6,000 Lady Dior to FP, and they offered me $3K! I see Lady Dior’s on FP & the mark up is ridiculous, but nowhere close to what they’re selling them on the Dior website which is currently $6,700.
First of all, when you decide to sell to Fashionphile, you agree to take a big price cut for the convenience of the service they offer. They are a business and their goal is to buy from you at the lowest possible price and sell it to someone else for as much money as possible. They’re not a charity.
And what I meant by “keep its value” is that the Lady Dior depreciates the least compared to other Dior bags. 99% of bags are like cars: they lose value as soon as you leave the store / drive off the lot.
the bow bag could easily have the Loewe on it.
the Loewe logo
This is giving me the ick
I would really like some of these is there wasn’t the need to ruin them with obvious logo placement. It ruins the bow bag and the new lady Dior bags are ruined with the Dior on the bow which would have otherwise been
sweet detail.
Pretty disappointed overall, expected more from Jonathon Anderson and from the brand.
eh, They still can’t get rid of the stench of “this company pretends not to use sweatshop labor.”
Lol if you keep mentioning that Arnault won’t be your friend anymore.
Not impressed…. that Bow bag is okay… But as others have commented it is derivative and that chain just looks a nightmare, there’s no way I would wear that bag with that thin chain cutting into my shoulder
Had the same same thought, that dinky chain digging into the shoulder or hand or crook of the elbow; put one thing in that bag and snap, will it just come flying apart? After leaving marks on your person? Good lord. Where is the creativity and thoughtfulness we used to see in bag design?
I like the new bow bag. I hope it will be made in navy blue.
That lady dior is giving Kate Spade. Sorry
Lady Dior is nice
