Largely influenced by the aesthetics surrounding her as a child, LA-based illustrator and designer Jessica Herschko began sketching one-of-a-kind items after a random trip to Goodwill led her to a vintage Hanes Sweatshirt. A sharpie and one Instagram post later and Observed by Us, a project alongside pal Kirsten Dunst was born.
Known for its whimsical spirit, playful colors, and hand-drawn aesthetic, Oserved by Us is largely inspired by the idea of taking mundane, everyday subjects and applying to them a sense of wonder. Dunst and Herschko are able to capture a sense of imagination to bring forth joy through Observed by Us, and now, the duo is bringing that joy to the masses in its new collaboration with Coach.
Coach x Observed by Us
The collection takes the spirit of Observed by Us and remixes it through the lens of the Coach’s American design language. Designed alongside Coach Creative Director Stuart Vevers, the duo behind Observed by Us took inspiration from Kirsten Dunst’s own closet, melding nostalgia with a certain playfulness.

The result is a collection of ready-to-wear, bags, footwear, and accessories that feel both inherently Coach and Observed by Us. Iconic American wardrobe staples like denim, tees, hoodies, and floral dresses are given hand-made touches, finished with Coach’s history in leathercraft. The House’s heritage also largely inspired the collection’s color palette, which is a mix of neutrals and saturated hues that feel fresh and youthful.
Key pieces from the collection feature unique story patches said to be a Coach code and a symbol of authenticity. These are illustrated in Observed by Us co-founder Jessica Herschko’s handwriting. Embroidery further brings the stories to life on items like the classic Coach Swinger Bag and more.
