If its Fall 2013 collection is any indication, Coach would like you to reconsider your ideas of what kind of brand it is. That applies to everyone, both fans and skeptics, and Coach is prepared to back up that request with everything from brand new, totally chic handbags to lines of outerwear and leather apparel that are so sophisticated and luxurious-looking that they would be right at home on a front-row Fashion Week attendee. At this rate, that’s exactly where they’ll be.
The Borough Bags are just the start of Coach’s next era, which expands on the brand’s leather goods heritage into apparel categories that Coach is approaching anew. That’ll include things like handknit sweaters and butter-soft Spanish lambskin for cigarette pants and skirts, plus outerwear based on legendary American fashion pioneer Bonnie Cashin’s original designs for the brand. Even the Coach logo gets a new life in this New York-inspired collection, which is a feat unto itself when a company’s logo is so widely recognizable. It’s hardly the only impressive move in the collection, though, which extends to menswear and accessories as well. We’re just scratching the surface with some of our favorite urban-modern looks below; the Complete Coach Look can be found via Coach.
