Want It Wednesday: Chanel Flap Bag in Pink Cloudy Pearly Goatskin

Because nobody does metallics like Chanel...

If there’s one thing that Chanel has perfected over the years, it’s updating its cornerstone silhouettes and most timeless designs in new novelty materials and colors meant to entice even the pickiest of fans. Karl Lagerfeld was the original master of this, but it continues with Virginie Viard at the helm.

While the brand’s most classic leathers and staple colors are carried over from season to season, it’s typically the novelty bags and limited edition seasonal colors that become some of the most coveted of the season. Oftentimes they come at a premium on the resale market too.

I’ve always said that when (and if!) I add something from Chanel to my collection; I want it to either be a special seasonal piece or a rare vintage find. There’s nothing wrong with a Classic Black Caviar Flap Bag, but I want a bold statement-making piece that fits my personality. While I’m not in the market right now to purchase a Chanel Bag, I’m always on the lookout for something special, and one of the brand’s most recent Classic Flaps caught my eye, and I cannot unsee it.

The Handbag World’s Best Metallics

When it comes to metallics, one can argue that no one, and I mean no one, does them quite like Chanel. Each season I find myself drawn toward them, and this one is no different. Crafted from Pearly Goatskin leather, it’s not even fully metallic, but it has just the right amount of sheen. This bag feels like sunshine to me.

It’s the perfect combination of both unique but classic and girly with an edge. Chanel has always done its pinks really well, and this one is one of the most beautiful I’ve ever seen. There is also a yellow version in the Pearly Goatskin, but I find the pink to be more unique, with an almost ombré effect. Following the last price increase, retail is $10,200 via Chanel.
