Few emblems at the House of Celine are as historical as the Triomphe motif. Celine’s Triomphe logo was created originally by its founder Céline Vipiana, whose car once broke down in Paris, right in front of the Arc de Triomphe. Vipiana was instantly inspired by the chain surrounding the storied French monument, and thus, the Celine Triomphe was born.
The Triomphe, Reinvented
In recent years, creative director Hedi Slimane has revived this iconic emblem, tapping into Celine’s rich history to put one of the most integral parts of the House’s DNA at the brand’s forefront once again. First, Slimane released the Triomphe mainline, which was similar in shape and construction to the brand’s beloved Classic Box Bag, but featured bold gold Triomphe hardware.
Initially, the bag was slow to resonate, but after a few seasons and the backing of a slew of celeb fans, the Triomphe became a hit. Worn by stars like Selena Gomez, Angelina Jolie, and Karlie Kloss, the Triomphe bag, has proven itself to be a favorite bag season after season amongst the celeb set and fashion fans alike. Now, the classic Triomphe logo has been reimagined by Slimane once again, in a more muted and understated way.
Discover Cuir Triomphe
The Cuir Triomphe line features a House staple, the Triomphe Emblem, in embossed leather. The embossed logo appears throughout on a variety of silhouettes. Appearing either etched onto the bag itself or as a laser cut out, the Cuir Triomphe bags are an entirely new way to experience the history of Celine.
The brand’s DNA has always been rooted in its leather goods, and the new Triomphe line is quintessentially Celine. If large gold hardware is not your thing, you’ll love the monochromatic Cuir Trimophe bags, which work well for both day and night. Discover more now via 24S.
This bag is kind of blah to me.
I like it! I’m usually anti-logo, but somehow I like them a little when they’re a bit subtle. Like, the LV monogram canvas is really not my style, but I love their empreinte leather.
