Celine Luggage Tote: Breaking Down My Three Favorite Sizes

I feel like the Goldilocks of handbags....

When I was buying my first Celine Luggage Tote, I became immediately overwhelmed by the sizes this bag offers. I am a huge fan of the Luggage aesthetic, as I own three sizes myself. However, I will be the first to admit that the sizing names of these bags can be very confusing for a first-time Luggage buyer. “A mini is how big?”, I asked myself. The Celine sizing names are extremely disorienting, as the names do not align with standard handbag sizes. A “mini” Luggage could easily be deemed a jumbo size by another brand, and it can be difficult to navigate as a first-time Luggage shopper.

I found myself becoming the Goldilocks of handbags, constantly taking out my tape measure and trying to figure out how large the bag would be. I did my due diligence, reading up on the sizes, comparing photos on others, and ultimately, taking a bit of a gamble by purchasing a bag unseen. I purchased all three of my Celine Luggage Totes through Fashionphile, which I am a repeat buyer and fan of because you can always return a bag for any reason (as long as you don’t remove their tag).

Phantom Luggage Tote

My first foray into C(é)line was the purchase of my Phantom Luggage Tote. Important side note: this size has now been discontinued and must be purchased via the resale market. I knew my Phantom would be big with a name like that, but I didn’t know quite how big. Don’t get me wrong, I love my Phantom, but I didn’t grasp just how big she would be. Easily the largest handbag in my collection, this bag reminds me of a giant stingray. The Phantom was released in two sizes, the medium and the large. If you are thinking of purchasing one on the resale market, be sure to check the dimensions to determine if you are getting a medium or large. Mine is the medium version, and I find it hard to believe the large is even bigger! Oversized, bold, and sure to make a statement, the Phantom is not for the faint of heart.

Phantom Medium Dimensions:
Longest Length: 21 inches
Height: 11.25 inches
Width: 9.5 inches
Drop: 5 inches

Celine Mini Luggage Tote

My second Celine was a Mini Tri-color Luggage. Immediately a handbag favorite of mine, this size felt just right for me and my preferences. I love a larger bag, but the “mini” (which is not mini in any way, shape, or form by conventional handbag sizing, for the record) felt manageable to wear. It fits way more than I would ever need, but the proportions are beautiful, and the bag size works well for my needs. I can carry a MacBook Air, my kindle, my wallet, miscellaneous beauty items, a scarf, and still have more room to spare than I could need. The only downside? Due to the luscious nature of this bag, it feels heavy when full. Although for me, the mini size is my favorite Luggage to date.

Mini Luggage Dimensions:
Longest Length: 19.5 inches
Height: 11.75 inches
Width: 7.25 inches
Drop: 4.75 inches

Celine Micro Luggage Tote

My most recent Luggage tote purchase was the Micro size. Easily the most mystifying of the sizes to me, I could not wrap my head around what to expect with this size. Sure, I had researched the photos and measurements ad nauseam, but I still found myself unsure of what to expect. This bag size looks different on different body types, making it appear larger on some and smaller on others. As a shorter and curvier woman, I was a bit apprehensive about ordering this size, but I am so glad I did! Yes, this bag is much smaller than the Mini (and way smaller than the Phantom), but it is still a generously sized handbag. I find that the body of the bag appears wider, and the handle drop appears longer than the mini size, which is an optical illusion since it has the smallest drop of the 3 sizes. Don’t mistake the smaller stature and micro name for a tiny bag; the Micro Luggage still fits a ton (and then some).

Micro Luggage Dimensions:
Length: 10.5 inches
Height: 10 inches
Width: 5.5 inches
Drop: 4 inches

After trying on all three for size, I must admit the Mini Luggage is “just right” for this handbag Goldilocks. However, I love all three sizes, and each one fits in different facets of my life. For that reason, I will be keeping all three! The Luggage has easily become my favorite handbag in my collection.

Eventually, I plan to add a Nano size into my collection (the smallest and most adorable of all the Luggage sizes). I HAVE STAYED CLEAR since I am a big bag lover, but I find myself tempted by the crossbody strap. If the sizing names indicate size, the Nano can surely still fit quite a lot into it, despite its tiny nature.

Do you have a favorite Luggage size?
