In 2024, it is nearly impossible to keep up with fashion. Forget about trends. We now have ‘cores,’ which sometimes seem to explode overnight, usually catapulting an already existing way of dressing into ubiquity.
We’ve seen it happen with the Mob Wife aesthetic, and the femininity of Balletcore, but there’s also the coquette trend, which seems to be going strong all through 2024. If you’re unfamiliar, the term blew up on TikTok last year, and largely focuses on ultra-feminine shapes and silhouettes, further defined by girly details like bows and florals.
Say Yes to Coquette
When it comes to bags, few shapes feel as feminine as the frame bag. Perfect for getting dressed up, the shape itself is unfussy, delicate and clean, yet structured with an unmistakably chic feel.
We could sing its praises all day long, but don’t let us be the ones to convince you, leave that to Selena Gomez. Over the weekend the star and beauty entrepreneur stepped out in New York wearing our favorite frame bag, Saint Laurent’s Le Anne Marie bag, and a quintessentially-coquette outfit.
The simple silhouette of her dress, which is by Oscar de la Renta, is accented by layered bows on the neckline, which pair perfectly with the clean shape of her Louboutin slingbacks.
While it’s unclear if we’re coquette converts, we’ll definitely be adding frame bags to our wishlists…
I don’t think the outfit flatters her at all. The dress length is meh and the bag looks like something she grabbed from her grandmas closet.
This look doesn’t work at all The bag is similar to the Celine Clasp.
