The Pierre Hardy Alpha Bag is Worth a Second (or Third) Look

Emily effect or not, this bag deserves a little bit of love...

Pierre Hardy launched his eponymous label in 1999 after designing for Dior and Hermès. With the freedom to explore his personal aesthetic, inspired by architecture, cars, and scenography, Pierre Hardy was born.

Defined by innovation and graphic lines, Pierre Hardy strikes the perfect balance of fashion without being overly trendy. The Alpha Bag, an icon of the House, is the perfect example. It has remained a staple for the brand for almost two decades.

If you’re looking for a brand that flies under the radar, Pierre Hardy is it. We’ve not covered the brand in detail in some time, but we’re falling back in love after spotting the Alpha Bag in the hand of everyone’s favorite hate-to-love wannabe-Parisian on Emily In Paris.

Parisian Chic With a Pop

Launching in 2006, the Alpha Bag is defined by its large fold-over front panel and contrasting edging, usually in bold graphic combinations. While this bag is distinct to the House, it’s void of overt branding, standing out thanks to its sleek design and clean lines.

Made in Morocco alongside the rest of the brand’s bags and small leather goods, Pierre Hardy sources its leathers from select Italian tanneries with a focus on quality. At its Moroccan workshop, 40 or so artisans apply their skills and know how to produce each bag.

The original Alpha Bag remains an icon thanks to its style and versatility. Carry it by hand for a chic, ladylike look, or wear it with a longer strap for daily wear. The Alpha’s defining feature—its front flap closure—allows for reinvention.

While the line has expanded over the years, the original remains a covetable (and accessible) accessory that not only has staying power but will stand out from the crowd.

I was actually researching this bag yesterday because it’s unique. I like that the leather is from Italy & reasonably priced. Idk yet if I’ll buy it, but it’s interesting!

I had the crossbody bag for years and finally sold it. The leather was super-soft, it was leather-lined and nicely finished. And held up really well, too!

Cutting Edger

Great post on the Pierre Hardy Alpha Bag! It’s clear why this bag is making waves. Thanks for showcasing its style and why it’s worth considering multiple times.
