In the last few seasons, Matthieu Blazy has taken us on a world tour of sorts, combining influences from all over the globe and bringing us stunning collections designed to the max. Where the last few collections have been all about the details, perfect for the maximalists among us, this season, Blazy designed for the everyday.
Don’t let that pragmatic design approach fool you. Fall 2024 is anything but minimal. However, this season, embellishments are kept to a minimum. Instead, a purposeful plainness is explored throughout the collection, and silhouettes from various eras are reinvented.
Clothes are stylish yet simplified, designed for people with somewhere to go and something to do. The bags themselves echo that same sentiment, meant to ooze a sense of inheritance. Think a stunning croc Cabat from your grandmother or a clutch near and dear to your mother.
Accessories are meant to hold meaning, transcending generations and able to stand the test of time. Silhouettes presented include new and old favorites, like the Cabat, the Hop, and Andiamo, alongside new bags like the Liberta. Big bags continue to reign, and classic details lend an archival feel with a modern appeal.
“We all watch the same news. It is hard to be celebratory at this point. Still, the idea of rebirth is beautiful, too. These are the flowers that bloom after the earth is burnt – they give a sense of hope. They come back stronger than ever. Here, elegance is resilience.” Matthieu Blazy
I like the dark brown clutch and the green croc clutch!
Wow! So gorgeous & sumptuous!
I’d buy that woven tote #24 over The Row Margaux.
Love all the textures but I shudder to think what the price on the alligator bags will be.
The Lauren Clutch Croc were put on sale when Tomas Maier left. I actually got 50-70% off from their outlet. After that they put those unsold pieces in their museum. God i love their exotic leather especially the ostrich were way better than Hermes. I would presume that Lauren will be at least 12K.
Oh, lucky you! What colour did you get?
I got a Nero from Fall 2017. One season after Tomas reintroduced the Lauren. I was a bottega addict right until Tomas Maier left. So I used to buy lots of stuff from them. Now, not anymore. Nada.
Where´s the new?
I find these woven bottega bags very underwhelming especially the inside of the bed that feels very cheap. They feel like bags bought off of Target and they’re very overprized. I would rather buy from Prada, Dior or Fendi.
You never have a positive thing to say. 🙄
