PurseBlog Beauty: 10 Beauty Products to Gift Yourself This Valentine’s Day

Totally single or fully committed, these luxurious picks are ones you'll love

Real talk: I’ve never had a real Valentine, unless you count my mom or my GALentine’s. Regardless, I’ve always loved Valentine’s Day. Ever since I was little, it’s been one of my favorite holidays, and not just because of all the chocolate I get to eat. I’ve always been a super love-y person, and I love telling people how I feel. Life is just too short not to. As a kid I was always clinging on my loved ones and showering them with hugs and kisses. Even still, my friends are never surprised when I grab them randomly just because I need a hug!

I always tend to treat myself around Valentine’s Day in some way, shape or form. Sometimes it’s a brunch out with girlfriends, a cute new top to wear out that weekend, or a relaxing beauty treatment. This year more than ever, I’m obsessed with beauty products. I think I have Amanda to thank for turning me over to the dark side of luxurious beauty products! This Valentine’s Day, I’m obsessing over these 10 products.

La Mer Crème de la Mer Moisturizing Cream
$170 via Nordstrom

I’ve heard that this stuff is the crème de la crème of beauty products—zero pun intended! This cult favorite is always on my radar, but I have to be honest, it gives me a little bit of sticker shock as the most I’ve spent on a beauty product is around $85. This would be the ultimate V-Day treat to myself.

Dior Nail Lacquer in Bonheur
$28 via Nordstrom

Basically the only time of year you’ll catch me with this color on my fingers is during the month of February. Seriously, I got it last year around this time, had my nails done for Valentine’s Day and then wore it maybe one other time since. Dior polish is a favorite of mine though because it lasts really well, and that says a lot, from someone who mostly gets gel manicures!

SkinCeuticals Hydrating B5 Gel
$82 via SkinCeuticals

My face started breaking out recently. When I say I lost my mind a little bit over it, I’m putting it lightly, but at 27, I’ve never had trouble with my skin, so when it freaked out on me, I did too! I’m laughing a little bit about it now because after a trip to the dermatologist, it seems like it’s on its way back to normal—fingers crossed. However, thanks to strong prescriptions coupled with winter in NY, my skin is insanely dry. I fell in love with this hydrating gel after getting a facial at Nordstrom Spa. It’s so worth the price, I promise!

SLIP Silk Pillowcase
$79 via Net-a-Porter

I’ve heard that sleeping on a silk pillowcase is really great for your skin, and after aforementioned skin troubles, I’ve been taking a hard look at everything from what I eat to what I lay my head on at night.

Chloé Eau de Parfum
$105 via Sephora

Back when I was a fresh faced intern at Chloe’s NYC office I spent hours in the sample closet, which was filled with fragrance bottles for gifting, and that’s when I first fell in love with this scent! 4 years later I still love it and jet to grab a fresh bottle when I run out. It’s one of my favorites and I always get so many compliments when I have it on.

GG Blooms Cosmetic Case
$550 via Gucci

If ever there were a time to splurge on a designer makeup bag, now would be it.

Tom Ford Beauty Soleil Blanc Eau de Parfum
$230 via Net-a-Porter

I don’t really have a great reason for wanting this, other than the fact that I came within 2.2 seconds of swiping when a sales associate at Saks cornered me and spritzed my wrists before I could even protest. It truly smells amazing, but the thought of getting it gave me pre-buyers remorse and I never actually went through with the purchase. I still want it, though. Anyone want to buy me a treat this V-Day?

Peter Thomas Roth 24K Gold Pure Lift and Firm Mask
$80 via Sephora

Nothing sounds more luxurious to me than a 24K gold mask. I can’t say I’ve ever tried this myself, but I’ve heard a great reviews from both friends and beauty editors, and it’s high on my list of products to try.

Fresh Beauty Sugar Tinted Lip Treatment
$24 via Nordstrom

This lip treatment is one of my favorite indulgences! It’s pricey when you think about spending $24 on a lip product when you can buy about 10 chapsticks from the drug store for that price, but it’s totally worth it. I’m addicted to the rose scent and it gives your lips a nice hint of pink!

Oribe Bright Blonde Shampoo
$46 via Net-a-Porter

Oribe shampoo might be my guiltiest pleasure. I’m actually embarrassed to admit I’ve spent that much on a bottle of shampoo, but it is truly so worth it. I’ve had blonde hair my entire life. Natural at first, but brightened up with color treatments later on in my life, and I’ve never found a shampoo that made my hair look super shiny until I found Oribe. This stuff really works. Not a blondie? You’ll love the Oribe Gold Lust Shampoo, which my salon often uses on my hair too.
