In the spirit of my love of python, I figure I will show you another slithery amphibian bag. Yikes, did that just make using python sound bad?? Nahh. But this python Prada bag doesn’t nearly get me the way the beautiful white tote did. The Prada Python Hobo is an open top bag featuring silver metal hardware and a really big freggin’ Prada logo on the front. In case you really are wanting everyone near and far to be able to tell the brand of your bag, Prada designed this larger than necessary logo to make you feel noticed as a wearer of Prada. Personally, I don’t like the pattern on this bag in general (although it may be natural). The hobo is quite a good size, 11¾”H X 15″L X 4¼”W, which only further clarifies my statement that the logo will be huge. Different strokes for different folks though, right? Buy this python via Saks for $1550. Again California is left out, but I am not sure too many of you Cali peeps will be all that disappointed.
Prada Large Travel Bowler
Jan 4, 2006 / Posted in Prada Handbags, Travel Gear by Megs Mahoney Dusil.
I have been able to face the fact that I am not always practical at a young age. I still am not always practical. I realize that fashion is also not always practical. If I asked you to raise your hand if you have ever purchased a completely impractical item I bet there would be quite a few handbag lovers out there with arms raised behind their monitor. Mine is
! But just because it is impractical does not mean we don’t continue to do it. Again, by we I most definitely mean I for starters. This all brings me to traveling. Many of us travel, and I venture to guess that many of us travel often. But do we travel in style? I may always look at the family carrying all the Coach or LV luggage and smirk, but deep down I wish it were me with the goods. I can’t help it. My love of handbags radiates into travel gear. While I would never want to check such a beautiful bag under, I wouldn’t mind carrying it on. The Prada Large Travel Bowler embodies the chic kind of accessory I want and the impracticality that I don’t need. This bowler is a canvas tote trimmed in gold and showing off buckle details. Yup, that is it. There isn’t much more to this bag, but that completely backward thinking side of me wants it to place nicely under the seat in front of me. Measuring 12″H X 17″L X 7″W, this tote should be easy to travel with and use as your oober stylish carry on. Buy it via Saks for the ridiculously impractical travel bag price of $985 via Saks.

I’m a huge Prada fan myself. Their bags excite me like only a few selected other designers manage to do. The Prada Brushed Leather Frame Bag made me love it the second I saw it. The frame shape, along with the buckle-detailed top handle and the stamped Prada logo help this bag radiate such a vibrant elegance, which, nevertheless, may or may not limit its daily usability. Heck, if there was only a night a year that this bag would fit into your nightly attire, I’d recommend any girl to put the fourteen hundred bucks on the table for this baby. Yes, I am a sucker for Prada and I love it. Dimensions: 9 1/2″H x 10 1/3″W x 3 1/2″D. More info.

If any of you are thinking that metallic is out, you are way wrong. It is everywhere. Metallics are still ‘in’. Have you gotten your metallic bag for the season? Personally, I have been eyeing quite a few but haven’t made a decision yet. But I figure it can’t hurt adding some more bags into the shiny mix. How about a Prada bag? The Prada Buckle Hobo adds a little zing and zang to the already huge list of metallic bags out there. I do love how Prada bags are made, yet sometimes I don’t think their prices are justified. Let’s play a little game (NO cheating!). I’m going to tell you all about this bag and leave out the price, then you guess how much it is. Let’s see if any of you think this is justified.
The Prada Buckle Hobo is a beautiful nylon shoulder bag. This hobo also is trimmed in gold (not the real thing
) and has a grommeted buckle and a buckle detailed shoulder straps. It looks to me like the bulk of the bag is nylon, and the gold trim is leather. The only other extra this bag has in an inside zip pocket. The hobo is a good size- not too big and not too small: 8″H X 11″L X 7″W. So, how much do you think this bag is? Don’t go lookin’ it up, or else it is no fun!! I’ll post the link tomorrow along with the price!! Happy guessing

This is the shortest post ever; But can anyone explain to me the logic behind the Prada website? That is probably the most unhelpful site I have ever seen in my life- cough cough.
Oh yes my children, it is the time for Spring 2006 Vogue and Couture galore! Before we continue with ecstatic outbursts of joy and excitement over luscious bags from the biggest names in the biz, I would like to take a moment to point out this pink croc mini-suitcase as presented by Prada in Paris. My eyes undergo orgasmic spasms staring at this piece, no doubt you’ll get double-screened and strip-searched at the airport due to this dangerous hotness!

* I just saw that Bag Crazy also found this beauty! Great minds think alike
On with Viewer’s Choice Monday, we have a beautiful selection from Wendy. By the looks of it, Wendy is quite the stylish and bold gal. Wendy has picked quite the number by Prada. The Prada Giraffe-Print Push-Lock Bag screams out fun and flirtatious for the girl who wears it. The bag is both beige and dark brown giraffe-print hair-calf with a beautiful buckle-detailed shoulder straps (which has an 8″ drop). The top has a flap with a goldtone push-lock closure. The bag doesn’t ever stop with its animal appearance, the shoulder strap and the body of the bag is covered in Giraffe-Print. My assumption is that the calf-hair would feel quite nice and out of the ordinary. The inside of course has a pocket to carry Wendy’s goodies. The overall dimensions of the bag are 6 1/4″H x 12 2/3″W x 4 1/3″D. I hope Wendy has been saving up or has someone saving up for her, because this Prada bag is going for $1625 via Neiman Marcus. Any girl that can wear a style this bold is sure to be the center of attention- You go girl!
Prada Leather Envelope Bag
Aug 30, 2005 / Posted in Evening Bags, Prada Handbags by Megs Mahoney Dusil.
You know something that really grinds my gears… when a store advertises a bag a certain way, and then you later realize there are various parts you have to buy to make it look that way. I know it is all about presentation. But even online? You mean to tell me that online they do that too? Well they do. I ran into this Prada Leather Envelope Bag and thought it was so tastefully done. But read the specs a little further to see that the butterfly trick is sold separately. Is that not false advertisement?? (Ok it’s not since they mention that it is sold separately but still the picture really got my hopes up high) The rest of the bag is really quite cute. It is made of gold leather, with a detachable silver chain strap, and silver metal hardware. The dimensions of this little one are 5″H x 7 4/5″W. The leather bag is actually quite reasonably priced for Prada, $334 via Neiman Marcus, and the butterfly trick (which adds such a beautiful touch to the bag) is of course a whopping $138 also through Neiman Marcus.
While I am vacationing in Europe, my family is out of power in South Florida after Hurricane Katrina hit. I am sure they are fine, but I feel kind of bad- although none of that is in my power. So I woke up a little worried/annoyed with the news of the Hurricane (although it was a low category storm it has already killed 4 people and put 1 million out of power), and decided to write about a bag that fits my annoyed mood. This is an early apology if I bash this bag too much; after all I have a few other things on my mind.
So I ran into this Prada Nylon Passamentry Tote. Saks, where it is being sold, does not offer much information on the bag, but I’d like to take a stab on some of what they left out. The tote has a zip top and measures12¼”H X 12¼”L X 2¾”W. Simple enough. But now comes the interesting part to me. The focal point of the tote is the grommets which surround the passamentry details. Anyone want to enlighten me on what passamentry details are? I’m not really sure. The passamentry details look to me like they form the shape of a cross. Humm. Better yet, the grommets are placed on nylon. I know Prada makes quite a few nylon bags (I own some), but with a name like that it is time to not call your nylon bag a runway look. Because this bag is “straight off the runway” the price tag also adds a “runway” fare. This nylon bag costs $1265 via Saks. Now, I did not really call the bag ugly- just not my style. For sure not my style with the price and knowing that the bulk of the bag is made of nylon. Even I am not that dumb to be suckered into buying a nylon bag for $1300. What do you all think? Am I way off on the price/overall look of the bag? (If I am we are so blaming it on my bad mood!!
)
Anyone else have weird dreams about celebrities? Right before I fell asleep I was looking at celeb gossip, and next thing I knew I was dreaming I was on a roller coaster with Britney Spears. No? Guess you weren’t invited. That actually has nothing to do with what I’m writing about, but I assumed it was an amusing interlude. This morning I woke up and felt like spending money. Now if you know anything about me, that’s a bad thing. That’s the kind of money spending where I swear a credit card is only a piece of plastic and I forget that the funds are not unlimited. Then, during the entire time I shop, I laugh each time I make a dent in the card. That has been a bad habit of mine since as long as my parents and I can remember. So of course, being in a shopping mood, first thing I did when I woke up was check out some expensive handbags (which is quite usual for me). And I ran into a beauty, I mean a true beauty.
The Prada Rose Print Satchel is gorgeous. Just drop dead gorgeous. It’s ready for pre-order, and I believe I am joining the list (hey, that’s no harm done, right?). This satchel is made with a cream canvas with red/orange/olive/yellow rose print and metallic gold leather trim. The gold trim really gives the bag the most elegant appeal along with the accents from the golden hardware. The shoulder straps have buckle-detailing and a removable ID tag. Featuring a top flap with a push-lock closure, makes the closure for the bag stand out among the usual zip top closures. The dimensions are 9 1/6″H x 12 1/3″W x 5 1/3″D. When I woke up this morning, the bag was a little piece of heaven for me. Maybe it does the same for you, if so you can join me on the pre-order list at Neiman Marcus for $1,195.00.
