Being the kind of girl who loves an edgy handbag as much as the next person, I was a bit disappointed to come across this one. While I am not the designer nor was I a part of the design team, I do feel like those behind this bag were aiming for a rocker/edgy look. I can see where they were coming from but unfortunately they missed the mark.

It looks like someone’s small child took a pair of scissors and went to town. (more…)

When Cleobella handbags come up, I brace myself for something very hippie-esque. So, today, I was a bit surprised when I came across a recent Cleobella design.

To be honest, at first glance, I thought this bag had some kind of metallic element going on. Upon further investigation, I realized that while there is some kind of weaving going on, there is absolutely no metallic involved. Perhaps I glanced at the bag too quickly or perhaps I have metallic on the brain, so I am not exactly sure why I thought I saw metallic. Either way, there is something about this bag that screams out, “carry me”. (more…)

Sweet mother of the work force! I think I’ve died and gone to heaven. I absolutely must get my hands on this Miu Miu bag. Ok, I am getting ahead of myself, so excuse me while I calm down for a quick second.

There, I’m better now.

Before I was a blogger, I was a part of the corporate world (well sort of). I remember living in DC, riding the metro (DC’s version of the subway) to work and noticing all of the bags both men and women carried to work. I didn’t have anything too fancy and never really went out of my way to find something fancy. However, I literally came to a complete stop when I came across this Miu Miu Deerskin Leather Tote – it is beyond fabulous. (more…)

See people, this is what I am talking about when I express how I feel that so many shoulder straps are unnecessary. The shoulder strap on the Olivia Harris Lambskin Round Sack Tote is not only unnecessary, it is also absolutely FUGLY. I know for a fact that I would have a much different opinion if say, the strap was the same color as the bag itself. However, a black bag with a tan shoulder strap just screams “handbag don’t” to me. (more…)

It has been a little while since we’ve all been in the midst of a fringe debate. If you remember, not too long ago, it seemed as if every other bag was adorned with some kind of fringe. I for one never really got sick of bags with fringe, but I can see how so many of you handbag lovers out there did. Fringe can completely make or break a great bag.

So, I was a little surprised to see this Tod’s bag with so much fringe. Aren’t you? No matter what you think about fringe, you have to admit, this bag is rather exquisite in its own way. (more…)

You know, I wish this wasn’t the case, but, I don’t really see anything all that wonderful about the Marc by Marc Jacobs Q 49 Catherine Lambskin Satchel. Is it just me or does anyone else feel the same way?

Yeah, this is a nice enough handbag, but I don’t see anything over the top about it. In fact, I’m kind of bored with this bag. To be honest, I don’t think I’d use this bag for anything other than a carry-on when traveling. (more…)

Ok, so for the most part, it seems as though most people either love or hate L.A.M.B. handbags. While there is always some sort of divide when it comes to handbag likes and dislikes, I feel as though for the most part, L.A.M.B. really speaks to a very unique crowd. As a L.A.M.B. lover, you have to embrace loud, out there, in your face handbags. True, I’ve come across a few that aren’t as out there as others, but generally speaking, L.A.M.B. bags are very, very noticeable.

And while I’ve already covered the L.A.M.B. Haughton Clutch before, my eyes were a bit at ease when I came across this version today. Unlike the first version that I covered, this one uses much more subdued colors which I imagine will appeal to a larger crowd. (more…)

I was in total agreement with Amanda’s review of the Marc by Marc Jacobs Damisi Patchwork Leola Satchel. There are plenty of pluses but the finish of the bag did make it look a tad cheap. Now, I do love when I can find a great designer bag at a low price, but I will never carry a bag that looks cheap. There are simply way too many options out there without having to sling something on your shoulder that diminishes your overall appearance. With all of this being said, I almost wrote off the Damisi Patchwork Line until today. (more…)

Against perhaps my better judgment, I really like the Alexander Wang Jena Laser-Cut Leather Clutch. And I mean, I like, REALLY like it. The shape is a bit odd and I typically stay away from oddly shaped bags. Don’t ask me why, it’s just what I do. Yet, this clutch, this adorable, edgy and versatile clutch has captured my attention and I’ve not been able to get out of its hold since. (more…)

You all have to know by now that I am not a fan of Juicy Couture handbags. This all started way back when Megs purchased a Juicy Couture bag that made my eyes bleed. Granted this was years and years and years ago, but I still remember the day she came home with it. Now, Megs is much more of a fashionista than I, so I probably should have just kept my mouth shut and appreciated the bag for what it was. But alas, I did not.

Needless to say, the design team at Juicy Couture has to work pretty hard to impress me. I am not one for a bag which SCREAMS its brand. Sorry folks, just not my style. However, there is something about this bag that I actually like. Let’s look at it a bit more closely. (more…)

How do you feel about bead work on a handbag? Unfortunately for me, bead work seems to be very hit or miss. There are some bags where the bead work is exquisite and I want nothing more than to find a reason, any reason to carry that particular bag. Then there are other times when I simply don’t understand why a designer would settle for misplaced or thoughtlessly placed beads. This kind of “detail” can take any relatively decent bag and make it absolutely fugly. So, here I am, on this gloomy Tuesday wondering where this particular Rafe bag falls. (more…)

First of all, I hope you all had a wonderful Memorial Day weekend. Mine was filled with my three favorite F’s: family, fun and food. We didn’t do anything too over the top, but we had a great time nonetheless. While I was catching some rays in the pool, I glanced over and saw my Dad fire up the grill. As he did that, I remembered that Father’s Day was right around the corner. And as soon as I thought that, a mini moment of panic set in. I don’t know about you, but I always struggle a bit when it comes to Father’s Day gifts; I just don’t know what to get my Dad. I was also pretty sure some of you might feel the same way, so let’s see if we can find a few options this month. (more…)
