Known for his experimental approach and talent for playing with exaggerated proportions, Simon Porte Jacquemus, the founder of Jacquemus, continues to expand his distinctive creative vision. Season after season, the brand’s ready-to-wear and accessories remain among fashion’s most sought-after pieces.
A New Jacquemus Obsession
I’ve had my eye on some of Jacquemus’ more practical bags for several seasons now, drawn in by their undeniable It-factor and sculptural shapes. One of the brand’s newest silhouettes continues to reign, and it’s the first Jacquemus bag in a while that I can’t stop thinking about. It’s currently back on my radar after Kate Hudson carried it around Paris last week.

I definitely don’t need it, but I keep coming back to the Jacquemus Valérie.
Inside the Valérie
The Valérie is a perfect representation of the Jacquemus DNA—it’s stylish and sleek, yet still carries that distinctive edge that defines the brand. Like past designs, it immediately felt like a cornerstone piece when it was first released late last year.
The Valérie has a street-style sensibility that can be dressed up or down, with clean lines and signature circular metal hardware. There’s also a strong “if you know, you know” factor to the bag, made even more special by its name—a tribute to Jacquemus’ late mother, Valérie.
Ladylike and sophisticated, the Valérie is designed to take you anywhere, with two size options and various textures and colors. Still, I’ve got my eye on the large version in either camel or light green… swoon.

I liked it when I first saw it online, but after seeing it IRL, and touching it, something about just did not sit right. The suede version is made of mediocre quality suede. The smooth leather version is made of Chevre, but the shine on it seems to come from a coating rather than from the natural gloss of Chevre leather.
IRL I just could not like it.
oh I did like the chevre when i saw it in person and I wanted it but I think it’s priced too high for a brand that sort of, for me, floats between contemporary and designer.
Isn’t Jacquemus having insane quality issues? It’s all over social media.
